Designed to lighten skin discoloration and pigmentation, Physicians Complex 6% Skin Bleaching Cream is a unique formulation that combines three special ingredients - Hydroquinone, Kojic Acid Dipalmitate and Bearberry Extract - to result in a more preemptive and long-term skin lightening than is possible from other conventional skin lighteners. Hydroquinone is a proven ingredient for lightening or brightening age spots, brown spots, melasma and other skin discolorations or skin pigmentation problems. Kojic Acid inhibits melanin formation to keep the skin looking bright. Bearberry Extract not only has the ability to lighten existing hyperpigmentation, but will also inhibit future melanin formation. This formula is guaranteed stable from oxidation for two years.

DIRECTIONS: Apply to clean skin twice daily (AM & PM). Or use the product as directed by your physician or skin care professional. Desired results are achieved with consistent use of this product. Application of sunscreen SPF 30 or higher is mandatory on a daily basis.

I ordered this product from [...] for $55 and used the product twice-daily for six weeks (using ever more cream in an effort to achieve some kind of fading of the sun-induced brown splotches on my cheeks). I used up the product with no noticeable fading. I am disappointed in the result and regret my purchase. No better results were achieved from its use than what could be obtained from the use of bog-standard creams with 2% hydroquinone which can be obtained from local drugstores, and costing much less to boot!

I HAD expected dramatic results because I purchased the product thinking that it contained 6% hydroquinone. Upon realizing that I was mis-led by the labelling I contacted both the Dermstore and Sales@clinicianscomplex directly. My emails have been ignored by the Dermstore (three have been sent between July 30 and Aug. 4 2010). In response to my second email to Clinicians Complex (after a four-day wait) in which I wrote of the need for a wider public forum on the product, I received a response that implied non-receipt of my first email. I promptly sent proof of that mail. In my emails I asked both companies for clarification of the percentage of hq in the cream. No one seemed willing to clarify. In effect we are being asked to buy a product that is NOT an INFORMED PURCHASE.

After many exchanges of emails with CC I asked point-blank if the cream contains 6% hq. No! was the eventual response. I am willing to bet it does not contain even 4% hq because the results do not match that of other products with 4% hq. The representative at CC made the statement that 99% of their customers are happy with this product. Is that so? From the four reviews here, three are negative. I am no statistician, but three negative reviews out of four tell me that is a 75% DIS-SATISFACTION RATE! I was advised to seek a refund from the store where purchased and, if any problems, the store was to contact Clinicians Comples. But Dermstore seems disinclined to give me a refund, citing the 30-day rule, even though the situation is unique.

The conclusion could be drawn that the labelling is mis-leading at best, and deceptive at worst. Because it does not give the percentage of hydroquinone, consumers could quite incorrectly conclude that the hq percentage is 6%, as I did. I hope sincerely that this is not a cynical attempt to trick consumers. The labelling needs to change; and it needs to list the percentage of hydroquinone in the product so that consumers can make informed purchases. All other products with hq list the actual percentage. Why doesn't Clinician Complex?

A representative at Dermstore makes the point that any product with hq in excess of 2% needs a prescription. That is not true! Glyquin XM, with 4% hydroquinone, a much superior product to CC 6%, is available at Canadian Pharmacy and online at E-Store (California).

I write this review to warn potential purchasers of this product. It will not work as you hope it will, and there are alternatives available. I would also advise that you contact Clinicians Complex about the formulation of this product. We want to make informed purchases.

I have used a similiar product with equal amount of hydroquinine with quicker results. Very bad metallic smell lingers on your hand regardless of how much you wash it. Had to stop applying due to the smell but will try again. Very costly. Still hoping.
