5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Foundation
I have used heavy foundations in the past and have found them fake looking, and pore clogging. Also, the old-fashioned kind gives me that greasy feeling and makes my face look oily during the later part of the day. Not so with this product. I love it, it just gives me enough coverage and keeps my face fresh looking all day. Plus, I like that it's organic. It's nice...

I'm mixed on this one. I'd recommend getting it from a store that will allow you to sample and return it, if needed.

The pros:
-an interesting, refreshing scent (predominantly a genuine lavender scent)
-a fresh, pleasant feeling on the skin-- a little tingly

The cons:
-poor coverage
-poor colour range

4.0 out of 5 stars Love this product, could do without the lavender smell, August 14, 2011
I am one of those kind of girls that hates the fuss of makeup. I refuse to wake up early to spend my time in front of a mirror, and half the time Im rushing where ever I go applying eyeshadow in a crazy flurry at a stoplight in my crooked rear view mirror. when I find products that make me look half decent and can by smeared on in the matter of seconds Im all for it. Recently, with the aid of a CVS coupon, I decided to splurge on Physicians Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer with an SPF of 15. The thing that drew me to this $13.99 1.5oz tube of lotion was the simple fact that it is paraban free, all natural, cruelty free and organic. As someone who prides themself with attempting to be as eco friendly as the market will allow, I chose to give it a go.
I love this product. I have combination skin and often I skip foundation because in areas where my face is dry foundation accentuates the flaws in my skin. this solves my problem completely. It is quick and effortless and I dont have to worry about uneven lines around my chin to help improve my overall skin tone. It comes in various shade groups and hasnt let me down thus far! My only complaint is the lavender smell that overwhelms my senses as i apply it. Im not a fan of the lavender scent in general so this is a huge turn off. however, I only notice it for the first few minutes after using it and then it seems to dissapate. i havent had any complaints from my boyfriend or my baby so Im sticking with it!
This product is intended and perfect for women who dont wear an abundance of makeup and just want a product that hydrates, nourishes, and evens out your complexion. I love that it doesnt look like im wearing makeup, so no matter what my day brings Im not checking myself in the mirror to ensure my face is in place. It is all natural and hypo allergenic unlike other popular drugstore foundations that leave more belmishes than they cover. I would highly recommend this product!

The cons:

I am very fair skinned--even buying the lightest of this, it is obviously a shade too dark and a shade too rosy--which is odd, as I have rosy tones to my skin. (and does anyone else find the selections of "light to fair" and "fair to ivory" confusing? usually, ivory=fair=light in the foundation world.

Ordinarily, I only wear a small amount of foundation--along my nose and under my eyes.
This stuff is so light that it doesn't really remedy any of those areas' appearance--and because it's a little off and so light in coverage, I end up using three times the amount I would use ordinarily. And adding more pressed powder to cover the sheen/discoloration. In the end, I'm still looking a little off.

Bummer. I'd like to green up my makeup and I like how this feels, but the results on me aren't pretty--which is the point of wearing makeup, right?

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Coverage for Low Price & Organic Ingredients, December 15, 2011

I've been eating organic food 100% of my diet since 1969 and have tried every brand of organic makeup on the market. Considering how low the price is - the quality is decent. There are other brands of organic foundation I've paid $27 to $32 for which give better coverage if you want to completely eliminate pigmentation, freckles, acne scars - but if you are on a tight budget, this is OK. Just understand it is a tinted moisturizer, very sheer and not going to cover up all imperfections in your skin.

I also like the mascara and powder - I tried both the cake and loose powder in this brand and it is good value for a low price.

I saw in Environmental Working Group one of the products in this line has some petrochemical ingredients - so beware of some greenwashing - [...] - but for the most part this is a very low priced, organic cosmetic. Considering this is "organic makeup for the masses" and sold at Big Box stores like Rite Aid and Safeway it is actually decent quality and fairly pure. Certainly this is much better than Cover Girl, Maybelline and dept store makeup which is full of phtalates, parabens, mineral oil and perfume....don't buy ANY cosmetics with fragrance. Fragrance is made from petrochemical ingredients.

a good investment is to buy a copy of Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients - it is around $10 and very handy to use as a reference guide - it is amazing just how much toxic gunk cosmetic manufacturers put in in makeup! For a nano-second I was hoodwinked into ordering online makeup samples from Christie Brinkley's website infomercial. Christie Brinkley is advertising it as "all natural". Baloney! It took me three requests to get the ingredient list but as soon as I read it I was disgusted that 95% of the ingredients in her makeup and skin care is artificial with synthetic, petrochemical ingredients.

For the super low price of Physicians Forumla Organic makeup line - you aren't going to get anything close to it's purity for the low rock bottom price. It is such a huge company they can manage to manufacture a line of organic cosmetics at a very low price!

If you want to go top of the line, Weleda, Gabriel Cosmetics, Mychelle, Dr. Hauschka are my favorites but more expensive.

I have been using Organic Wear tinted moisturizer for several months now, I love it. It isn't heavy or oily, it makes my skin
look clean and natural. The coverage is excellent, the price can't be beat. I highly recommend Organic Wear tinted moisturizer to anyone who is looking for light coverage and a natural healthy glow.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, January 9, 2010
This is the first tinted moisturizer I've tried. I love the Organic Wear line from Physicians Formula, but I wasn't thrilled with this product. It went on smooth, and the color is nice (ivory to fair), but it has a funny smell and I thought it felt too heavy for a moisturizer. I have combination skin, so I need a very light moisturizer, and this didn't fit the bill for me. Luckily, I bought it on clearance at Walgreen's, so I'm not out too much money for my trouble.

This does not feel at all like a moisturizer. It spreads on chalky and dry and feels terrible. Tinted yes - moisturizer NO!I like Physician's formula mineral powder, but this is just not up to snuff.

I loved this product at first. It had a great herbal smell, it moisturized very well. But then it made me break out. Not for sensitive skin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleased, August 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have used this product almost everyday since it arrived. I bought the Natural to Tan shade, but it is a shade lighter than my complexion. However, I apply the tinted moisturizer with my fingers or a brush, and it blends perfectly into my skin. The moisturizer does not leave my face feeling weighed down or greasy. The fact that the moisturizer contains sunblock is a plus. I haven't experienced any breakouts since using this product. This is a great product.
