Good reference text in addition to being a classroom Physics book. Something you'll keep even after you return all your other books for the money at the end of the semester.

I used this textbook as part of a College Algebra Based 2-Semester (4hr/4hr) sequence. I had never taken Physics in high school due to taking a different science for my final one in high school, so I went in there with not much to work with. Having said that though, this book is amazing, it has clear cut examples, formulas and descriptions and 100+ problems in every chapter to get plenty of practice. The online homework supplement however is horrid, but the book itself is great.

Bad, bad, bad textbook,

Horrible book.
Text is confusing. The text under-explains in some cases, but in other cases, adds too much irrelevant detail. There are not enough examples of problems in the book. On one topic, the text left me scratching my head. I looked up the topic on some free, random physics website that I googled & the website made everything crystal clear in 2 minutes! Unlike the $100+ textbook, this random physics website had plenty of clear explanations, examples, and sample problems. Additionally, the solution manual that accompanies the textbook only has solutions for every 4th or 5th problem. Physics is about doing problems and this textbook does not cleary and adequately show you how to tackle problems.

The book is the softcover international edition but is identical in content to the version sold in the bookstore at 4 times the price. Item arrived by express mail.

The content of this book is pretty crappy, blah, who likes physics, but if it's what you need for class then so be it. It's very hard to read, but a great book once you get your copy. Not too helpful with anything, but, its a book
