Editorial Reviews

Review

“Clint Sprott: I loved your show! I love physics.”—Donna E. Shalala, former Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and former Secretary of Health and Human Services

“He had promised to wow the audience and he more than made good on that promise. He first appeared from beneath the seats attired in a burgundy tuxedo and black cape. For his exit, he vaporized in a man-made cloud. Jaws dropped, eyes widened, and hair literally stood on end as he produced neon liquids that defied gravity, a levitating ball, a liquid
nitrogen cannon, and a human light bulb.”—The Wisconsin State Journal

Lots of classic demos plus some unusual ones. Each chapter includes explicit instructions, background material, safety warnings, and references. A terrific resource for science teachers (specifically in physics) at all levels, though most useful at the high school or college level.

As a new physics teacher, I found this book very useful, not to mention CD-s with excellent demonstrations. It's a great book, which gives you a lot of material for classes, but it also leads you to other ideas. I have only one objection - it's the layout of the book, it would be good if it got updated.

This is one of the "every teacher must have" books. It has many demonstrations and also it includes a cd showing all the experiments and demonstrations live. It gives good opinion to a physics teacher how to arrange an experiment The cd gives the chance for the teacher who doesn't have enough equipment to demonstrate but just to make it a widescreen show.
