Physics of the Space Environment,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Physics of the Space Environment (Cambridge Atmospheric and Space Science Series) (Paperback)
The book is not recommended for people who have had no introduction to the topic. It is a good reference for people who are somewhat experienced in this area. It is mostly equations and very little theory.

One of the best books in the field,
By A Customer
This review is from: Physics of the Space Environment (Cambridge Atmospheric and Space Science Series) (Hardcover)
This book provides a comprehensive introduction to space physics. The information in this book is invaluable to anyone in the field. Dr. Gombosi's explanations are clear, easy to follow, and instructive (there are no pointless sections what so ever). Although the book is mainly mathematical, the derivations are presented in such a way that this is no handicap to the readers and a strong sense of the physics of space situations is conveyed. I have used this book as a reference in research, in classes, and for presentations/papers. I strongly recommend it.
