Crescas, the missing link between RaMBaM and Spinoza,

This review is from: Physics and Metaphysics in Hasdai Crescas (Amstedam Studies in Jewish Thought) (Amsterdam Studies in Jewish Thought) (Hardcover)
I'm discovering that this intro to Crescas helps heaps in understanding that Spinoza in ETHICS is engaged in a 400 year discussion. So to understand the ETHICS vocabulary you have to have some familiarity with RaMBaM's GUIDE, this book by Harvey and continue on to ETHICS.
I'm no mathematician but the examples in this book lead me to suggest that Crescas was proto-calculus. At least, it's how I imagined ideas when taking intro to the calculus. |
