2.0 out of 5 stars Too many errors, February 19, 2007
This review is from: Physics (Hardcover)
When I called the publisher a couple of years ago about errors in the Sixth edition, it was if they never knew of any errors. Now, the errors have continued into this edition. The errors in the Instructor's materials are really inexcusable. It is pretty obvious that this publisher does not intend to fix their mistakes. This is too bad, because this is one of the very few physics texts for community colleges that is non-calculus based.

The errors that exist are errors that should have been caught by any proofreader, but are expecially obvious to anyone who has a physics background. The errors range from simple typos to wrong answers and wrong formulas. There is really no excuse except that the publisher does not feel obligated to produce a better text.

2.0 out of 5 stars I agree with both reviewers, May 22, 2009
This review is from: Physics (Hardcover)
This was the first time I had ever taken a physics class. This book was full of mistakes both in formulas and answers. I spent needless hours toiling over problems because of it. These errors should have never made it past the proofreaders.

1.0 out of 5 stars How Not to Teach Physics, October 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Physics (Hardcover)
This is a terrible textbook. At first, it is the ridiculous typos that confuse the reader, then it's the poor way everything is explained. No matter how many times you read the the information, you can't translate it into anything useful. The author will spend ample time on obvious things, then spend no time on important concepts. Many of the homework questions have no examples to help figure out. For the price, it should be better.
