When I called the publisher a couple of years ago about errors in the Sixth edition, it was if they never knew of any errors. Now, the errors have continued into this edition. The errors in the Instructor's materials are really inexcusable. It is pretty obvious that this publisher does not intend to fix their mistakes. This is too bad, because this is one of the very few physics texts for community colleges that is non-calculus based.

The errors that exist are errors that should have been caught by any proofreader, but are expecially obvious to anyone who has a physics background. The errors range from simple typos to wrong answers and wrong formulas. There is really no excuse except that the publisher does not feel obligated to produce a better text.

This was the first time I had ever taken a physics class. This book was full of mistakes both in formulas and answers. I spent needless hours toiling over problems because of it. These errors should have never made it past the proofreaders.

I still use this textbook as a reference when doing other class. I decided not to resell it after my class was over so it can't be that bad.

This book might have been better for use in a traditional classroom setting, but is just a bit too cryptic to accompany online/hybrid class formats. The text is not authored in a manner appropriate for its intended audience.

I must say that this is one of the best introductory physics books I've come across. I actually cried when I lost it on the bus :(
It introduces you to the basic concepts of physics in a very straightforward and cerebral way. It doesn't dumb things down the way that most introductory physics texts do. Since pretty much all physics (even in the U.S.) is performed using the metric system, this book concentrates on using the metric system. And the absolute best part is the problems at the end of the chapter. They actually make you think. They're not just plug and add problems. It makes physics fun.
