5.0 out of 5 stars It works
After deciding we needed a daylight simulator, and quite a bit of research,
I decided to order this unit. I wanted to use my own light, so I can decide the location and ultimate brightness of the light. The length of sunrise and sunset are preset. This simplifies the setup. Controls are easy to use, does just what I intended. It is much easier to get going on dark...

3.0 out of 5 stars Works but buttons will wear out over time
Similar to Sun Lady's review we had one of these that worked great for about 3-4 years of light use and the buttons have now worn out to the point that you can't change the time or turn the light off at all. When it works, it's great but it's unfortunate that the buttons die so quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nearing 10 years with the original Sunrizr, October 24, 2010
This review is from: Sun Rizr (Health and Beauty)
As I recall, I paid a fortune for my original Sunrizr, close to 10 years ago. It is still working. It is still waking me up 5:30 every morning. I can use my own lamps with it, and program sunrise and sunsets, and it automatically turns off by itself an hour after sunrise, so that I never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the light. It has a buzz-alarm feature that I've never needed to use.

The *only* thing I could complain about is that there is no weekend setting, but when I originally bought it, there were no dawn simulators with a weekend setting. In the past 10 years, I have wasted my money on countless other brands promising me a weekend setting, but none of them came close to this one. I either returned, resold, or disposed of all the others in frustration.

Even though I know I paid more for mine than what is listed on Amazon, I feel like I've gotten more than my money's worth over the years. I came here hoping to find an updated "weekender" version, but no such luck. If anyone has a suggestion for a weekend version of the Sunrizr, with the same quality and programming ability, please let me know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful device, December 11, 2010

It's light, simple, and seems expensive for what it does, but is completely worth it. The unit is easy to use, solidly built (works perfectly a year, and many drops, after purchase), and if you have trouble with the winter blues (or even just the winter blahs) it may transform your life. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works, but keys become worn out and won't change time., January 24, 2010
This review is from: Sun Rizr (Health and Beauty)
I have had one of these boxes for about 4 years, and have used it sporadically in the winters. It really works great in simulating the sunrise!! However, after a while the rubber keys wear out--they get old so when you press them down to change time or dawn time, nothing happens. You can't change the time, nor can you open the box to see if it can be fixed (there are no screws). Other than that it does what it's supposed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes waking up much less stressful., December 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sun Rizr (Health and Beauty)
This is the best single device that I've ever used to wake up in the morning. The slowly increasing intensity is much less jolting than just turning on the light. I have timed it with my clock radio so that the light is about half way on when the radio comes on. I usually notice the light first so I know it's almost time. I would immediately order another if this one ever quits.
