Montalban's masterpiece,
By Alberto Chinali (Cambridge,UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Pianist (Hardcover)
Manuel Vasquez Montalban is probably best known for his Pepe Carvalho books and his biographies (Franco, Ernesto "Che" Guevara) but this is, to me, his best book. A bittersweet story of love, politics and music stretching through the modern history of Spain. The rivalry between two men and their diverging stories as a mean of reflection on dignity and personal honesty.A book about winners and loosers and abot how easy it can be to mix the two.
