This is a very nice CD featuring the sounds of water accompanied by piano. Whether it's raining, next to a creek or in a boat calmly rowing down the river, it's always accomponied by a wonderful piano solo. It finishes with a slow ascent to a waterfall and if you close your eyes, you'd think you were realy there. If you love piano, you'll love this CD.

The piano is so beautiful and sweet! It takes you miles away to the heart of forest, where there are big waterfall and cool stream. I highly recommend this. This is my favorite Solitudes album.If you would like take yourself out of the busy work to a paradise forest, get this CD.

You can use this CD while you are reading or relaxing, it will help more to relax if you release your mind and listen to it in an open area.

Another winner among Gibson's productions. Songbirds at Sunrise, Piano Songbirds, Appalachian Mountain Suite and Forest Guitar are also highly recommended

It is our second purchase. -we bought our first one 10yr ago and it is still our favorite.

There are millions of piano cds but this cd is the most beautiful one. The sound of water and birds are very peaceful and calm. I feel like I am standing in the middle of the forest, standing by the window watching raining....
I still use this to put my baby to sleep.
I sometimes just play this cd in a low volume and it is wonderful background music.

This recording is truly exquisite. John Herberman has a incredible touch on the piano and in my opinion, is moving towards transcendent with his gift. His playing & the musical arrangements of these songs really fit with Dan Gibson's nature sounds, which are amazing in themselves (with a great back story!). This is one of my favourite CD's, along with Solitude's Forest Piano and Rhythms of the Sea (I also esp. like Country Retreat). We used the song "Wishing" from this CD as the processional song at our outdoor wedding at the cottage. This CD, along with the others I mentioned, do not 'rev' up the adrenalin in my system, but have the opposite effect. They seem to bring my system back down to a restful, settled place. They also have a healing effect on the emotions. Am quite serious about that! Very highly recommended. Some of these solitudes albums are a gift to the world, along with Dan Gibson's nature recordings. Thanks to the Gibson family & those at Solitudes for continuing after Dan Sr. passed away in 2006. This CD is a wonderful addition to any home.

I teach New Age piano, so when I heard this CD in an "Images of Nature" store I immediately knew someone special was behind the helm. John Herberman's got it. That special X factor that you know when you come across it. So beautiful and poignant is this music that it pretty much dominates my CD player. What more can I say? Get it. Love it. And listen to it. It NEVER gets old!!

I like the mixture of the nature sounds with the piano, the melodies are quite beautiful, good for driving. If you prefer something without the nature sounds, but still enjoy the piano instrumentals, try a young gentleman called Justin Hunter, and Australian Independent artist. He's quite talented also.

I got this CD as a gift the year it first came out, and even a decade later I enjoy it just like the first time I heard it, it never gets old and boring on you. If you like to meditate but sometimes find it hard to find a quiet place and time to devote to it then this CD will be the perfect match for you because you can just play it on the background after a hard day at work, or in the morning to get yourself calm for a busy day. I even noticed that my 18 months old son calms down when I play it. I downloaded mine to a MP3 and play it at my desk at the office when I need some calmness around me. You will not regret the purchase, the money worth spending. I also own The Forest Piano and love it a lot too (bought that one myself after listening to the cascades).

Incredibly calming and relaxing. Beautiful piano melodies are accompanied (and not overwhelmed) by soothing sounds of water and nature. My favorite of the Solitudes series.
