Biography

Brian was born in Hollywood, California. He has been composing music as long as he can remember. Family members tell him that when he was very young he began whistling nearly all the time. When someone would ask what he was whistling, Brian would usually answer something like, "I don't know. I just made it up."
He was only six years old when his parents bought a baby grand ... Read more in Amazon's Brian Crain Store

All of them are beautiful and haunting.

Although all the songs are played beautifully, some are not to my taste.

This is rich, peaceful, grand and lovely all at the same time. The kind of CD you will listen to over & over and never tire of it. I play this in my art gallery and it sets the perfect mood. Highly recommend.

I bought this CD so that I could play Butterfly Waltz at my wedding. The whole CD is wonderful. I hate to keep playing the CD because I don't want to get tired of it before the wedding, but I really enjoy the music. Highly recommend if you're looking for music to relax you after a stressful day.

I only know what I know. I'm NOT a musical expert and can't use Music Tech speak to describe what I enjoy. I can only speak from the heart rather than the mind. That said, when I discovered the amazingly soothing music of Brian Crain over a year ago via Zune, I thought I hit the "Mother Lode" of gentle music. Not a lyric in sight to take my attention away from what I'm doing, his music is PERFECT for meditation, cleaning, doing paperwork, a 180 mile drive through 4 states and just general enjoyment. I have a wonderful friend who is a self-proclaimed "music snob"; her words, not mine, are: "Music without Lyrics is a waste of time and listening." Oh, dear friend, I love and respect you but how sad. :( I grew up listening ONLY to orchestral and jazz music, courtesy of my grandparents. (The rest of the world was listening to Elvis, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.) Perhaps if the latter had been my musical inoculation rather than the former, I'd feel differently about music without lyrics. But, it is what it is and I was treated to the likes of Mingus, Copeland, Benjamin Britten, and Sergei Prokofiev. It's the phrasing of chord changes and tempo that excite me and get "the message across"....NOT WORDS.

This album is one of 8 that I own and listen to daily by Brian Crain. I download them through my Zune account and also have Mr. Crain as one of my picks on my Pandora account. When I'm working a 12 hour shift, planting up a roof top garden for a client and they come out, remarking how much "...I really am enjoying that music you're listening to.", then I know I've got a winner.

One note to anyone who chooses to download his music vs.

I am a sucker for this style of music, but this album delivered. We even used it for my daughter's wedding. Great stuff.

This is kind of beautiful music you hear once and it makes an impression, like an unforgettable score from a great classic movie! I would recommend this to anyone who is moved by duets of piano and cello, truly God's music!

I purchased this CD for my wedding. I love all the songs on the CD, but ultimately decided to have Butterfly Waltz be the song playing as we walked down the isle. We played the rest of the CD during the reception. Great CD!

This CD works really well for calming my grand-baby. The music flows smoothly and beautifully, and I bought this CD for my daughter to play in the car when the baby is restless, or to help her go to sleep at night. I don't often listen to my copy during the day--the lack of upbeat music depresses me after a while, even though it's lovely, but I like it late in the evening.
