Highly recommended, August 9, 2004

So far I have never heard a poor performance by Masur and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. And this CD is no exception. In fact both performance and sound are excellent. The pianist whom I had not heard before interacts with the orchestra beautifully. Overall, two exciting performances. (I exclude the a-minor concerto, which was writen by the composer when he was a boy to be performed in his parents' house.)
