Hough's is a very virtuosic account with lots of speed but this is achieved without Collard's compensating dramatic weight.
Collard's performance is so virtuostic and effortless that the music sounds as though it's just coming out of thin air, rather than having a human laboring over it.
I was quite pleased and surprised with the quality of this rookie work, a real gem of creation, one definitely worth collecting.
