This lamp does the trick: it's nice looking and solidly made and casts a pleasant bright light. It is heavily weighted in its base, so it stands firmly on top of the piano and is not wobbly at all. The slightly high shipping cost is probably due to this weight.

Two minor nits to pick: it doesn't come with bulbs (it uses two specialty 'T' bulbs that you need to go to a hardware store to find), and its switch is on the cord about 1 foot down from the base of the lamp. This means that you can't put the lamp in the middle of the piano and run the cord behind the piano, because then the switch is unreachable behind the piano. So we run the cord all along the top of the piano and off the edge of it. A switch on the lamp itself would make more sense. Also, I haven't found this type of bulb in a fluorescent - so you have to burn 80 watts in this thing. But overall, recommended.

The lamp works fine as a piano lamp, looks nice. I wish the lamp shade would rotate further so that the light does not shine in my eyes while I'm playing. Also, the base does not adjust very much. We have a tall upright and I'd like to angle it down further than it does.

The lamp broke off from it's base within minutes of use. Knobs also broke off. A terrible quality product. Not even sure why it was ever made as it can't endure any use whatsoever. TARGET should be ashamed for carrying this shoddy item. Without any doubt I advise all to avoid this lamp. You get exactly what you pay for.

Very nice piano light for the price. Shipping was as fast as promised and nice item and good value for the price. Highly recommend this beautiful light--it looks like it is much more expensive than the price we paid for it.

A fine looking lamp but the switch was intermittent on mine and I had to take it apart and fix the wire connection. Also I brought this as an actual piano lamp but it isn't tall enough for the piano books my kids use so I had to sit it on some books to make it high enough to use. Probably a better desk lamp then actual piano lamp.
