I just bought a copy of the wonderful Hot Piano! CD at one of the shows of this popular New York City entertainer during his month long gig at the 13th Street Theater. Like the performance, it's a tour de force in which blues, ragtime and classic jazz come together - it's the ultimate fusion of styles by a superb pianist. Though many of the tunes were penned over 75 years ago, Mark Birnbaum's unique interpertations and keyboard fluency make them sound as new and refreshing as if they were written yesterday.
Mr. Birnbaum is not just a piano virtuoso, he's a stylist and interperter in the true spirit of jazz - a "storyteller with sound." Hot Piano! will be a great addition to any collection - it's great listening and background entertainment.

Birnbaum's "Hot Piano! Is a rock'em sock'em HOT HOT HOT collection of the coolest ragtime,blues and jazz.
Imaginable. If you like "California Here I Come", "Rhapsody in Blue", "Tiger Rag", and countless others from the 1920"s - you are in business! In addition - some sweet originals and fantastic renditions of Debussy and Scriabin (sounding like lounge piano!)-Wow - 75 minutes of great music - Go get"em Mark - The best piano player anywhere! HOT PIANO!
