Creative Music Played by a Great Pianist,

Roy Harris was one of the better known modern American composers of the 20th century. I find his music to be very creative, and I especially like his advanced harmonic sense. The music is played by his wife pianist Johanna Harris. She was a pianist of exquisite refinement and musicianship. She had a great understanding of the more subtle sonorities of the piano which shows in her superb pedaling. I was fortunate enough to have been a piano student of hers at UCLA. I think my favorite on this album is the Harris Toccata.
