The original Nonesuch series of Haydn's piano works performed by Gilbert Kalish was a revelation. Only some of these are available in CD form, and it's a pity, because Kalish is the best interpreter of these pieces. Haydn's sonatas are underestimated, but this CD will help change that. They are witty, passionate and beautiful.
