Far more than just a game,

Initial post: Jan. 3, 2010 1:40 PM PSTJan from Piano Wizard says: Hi, momwith5kids, it's Jan with Piano Wizard here. I just wanted to let you know that it looks like you've only seen the very first step of the game, and have not yet discovered how it progresses to an advanced level. It's true that Step 1 is simply pressing the keys as game objects move on the screen (somewhat akin to Guitar Hero). We start out that way so you feel the joy of actually playing a song from the first second. But our Steps 2, 3, and 4 progress you very naturally through actually learning how to read the real musical notes of the song. We've known kids to go through the four steps and then play the same song on a real piano in about a half hour. We also sell "Piano Wizard Academy" materials that include video tutorials and sheet music for the first 50 songs in the game. It's like having a piano teacher in a box (and translates to about 2 years of a child's instruction). Aside from the 200 songs that come with the game, you can also download your own choice of music off the internet and keep adding to your game forever. So yes, momwith5kids, it feels like a simple game in Step 1. But it then grows with you to take you as absolutely far as you want to go. Any age, any level of musicianship. Thanks and have a great new year! Jan

I just posted a video on youtube showing Arianna, an 8 year old disabled child who can't move her body, playing this amazing Piano Wizard. The look on her face, and the glee in her eyes was mesmerizing. She's grasped everything so quickly, no doubt she will be quickly easing into changing the view from the little icons to sheet music view. I was so excited to hear her say, I can't wait to write my own music now. Arianna is using the full midi keyboard. If you want to watch her play, you can go to youtube and type Arianna piano wizard. :)

Piano WizardI first thought I had been ripped off. Ekeys? Didn't even think the box would say something other than Piano Wizard on it. It does! Piano Wizard software seems well based on Guitar Hero. True songs with real notes. I highly recommend this product. My dad even enjoys it when he watches me play. I'm an adult that felt bad about my old piano days, like many do I'm sure, and I am back to playing without the expense. I suggest; however, that you should check out the primary site and do a little research unless your buying this for a kid or a brief session of music playing. For those who want to delve right in and spend years on trainning go to the site and see what else they have. Then come back and buy if you'd like. The negative part of the EKeys keyboard, for me, is that it is small three octaves. I thought it would be higher due to the description. And it does not keep score (except it does show you) of points or players; so you may want to see the other programs for the product out there. Other than that for a temporary sort of interested player this is a great product!!! In the long run for those who are homeschoolers or taking lessons themselves don't buy this one. Shop around. One last note, the Ekeys three octave, does get a little wobbly! Why, I'm not sure. But for kids, it will prove a good investment unless they are well determined little kids....

It is a game, not for learning piano,

Just a game - kind of like hitting flying missiles before your time runs out - only this time you are trying to hit as many right notes as they move across the screen. Nothing more. Just a game. If you want to learn to play piano, try something else.
