About the Author
Carolynn A. Lindeman is professor of music at San Francisco State University and past president of the 85,000-member MENC, The National Association for Music Education. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Music Education (ISME). In April, 2001, Dr. Lindeman led the first delegation of music educators on a People to People Ambassador Program to Cuba. She is the author of three college textbooks and over fifty articles, and the series editor for sixteen publications related to implementing and assessing the National Standards in Music.
