I Don't Know Why I Do It (But I Do) This compilation dates from 1991, and runs to twenty tracks. Track 4 (Make my Cot Where the Cot-Cot-Cotton Grows) which features trumpeter Sylvester Ahola, is incorrectly credited to Harry Hudson's Melody Men, rather than Fred Spinelly's Lido Venice Club Band. The young Mantovani can be heard to advantage in "It's a Million to One You're in Love". Presentation is somewhat dated and twenty tracks is short measure by today's standards. Nevertheless, these are all excellent examples of up-tempo British dance band recordings, and I would not want to be without this CD. On balance, therefore, I think it merits the full five stars. |
