A Satisfying Conclusion,
By
This review is from: Pichi Pichi Pitch 6: Mermaid Melody (Pichi Pichi Pitch: Mermaid Melody) (Paperback)
This book is technically the finale to the main storyline while book 7 is a bit of an epilogue. That being said this novel definitely brought the final storyline to a close. There were elements of Sailor Moon, the original magical girl series, one part in particular sort of making me cringe at the obvious borrowing. However Mermaid Melody has something Sailor Moon lacked in, and that's conclusion to other character stories as well. The three main girls get conclusions, which unfortunately feel rushed all the same. I am hoping the next novel gives a little more explanation for everyone and their ending stories. But if I was going to conclude this is the end and there was no more I would still be satisfied. Great artistic work, great storytelling, and great characters all around.

MMPPP v6 - michael?! amnesia?!,
By Syaoran-Lover "KaiLi" (Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pichi Pichi Pitch 6: Mermaid Melody (Pichi Pichi Pitch: Mermaid Melody) (Paperback)
I loved the first ark (Panthalassia), but this Michael ark is weird. The whole story in this saga is whacked, in my opinion. The good news is, you get to see Lucia and Kaito fall in love all over again when he loses his memory in order to protect her... yay. What really cheered me up was to be able to see Gaito again (of course, in flashes and in energy or in spirit, whatever it was). I find it nice that those brothers finally came to an understanding.
Particularly, there are some scenes in this volume that are cute, but mostly, I'm glad I got it for the collection, basically. If you like your collection complete, it's a nice buy. If you don't have a need for that, then you can live without this volume. |
