I was looking for the original "Something In The Air" and stumbled across Pick 'n' Tell!
I was hooked after 3 listens!
..This album is headed up by Zoot(George)Money (vocals, Keys)
He goes back to the days in the later 50's when musicians were starting to rearrange the old classic blues into a more rock n roll attitude.
And, Zoot has attitude!
His bio includes:The Animals,Mick Taylor,Alan Price, Spencer Davis,Peter Green,Humble Pie and Long John Baldry.
Pick 'n' Tell is smooth!
The new arrangement of the "Something" is sensational!
But, it's the remaining 11 songs that tell the story.
It starts off easy and like the perfect set list, builds and leaves you wanting more.
Engineered by Richard Baily (Jeff Beck,Steel Pulse,Steve Winwood) this album, while keeping a rawness,suggesting that it could have been recorded on the front porch under the stars... is a fine tuned work of art..with excellent musicians,a background vocal harmony section,a top notch horn section and song writing that could only come from the deepest depths of the soul!
Pick 'n' Tell is an Outstanding Album.
