Dragonette has a memorial sound with the kind of voice that makes top-40 and maintains it. It's catchy, melodic, and fun! Just when you thought fun was a thing of the past, enter Dragonette. Destined for some chart toppers,(note the key here is more than one) this is an amazing sound with relentless energy.
This song "Pick up the Phone" is a great dance tune, one that might be around for years at prom dances making it one of the potential classics of tomorrow today. The vocals rings of versatility and has some influences of Sophie Hawkins, Sade, Pink and perhaps a touch of Stevie Nicks ringing through here and there. Definitely, when listening you will hear some mixed influences incorporated well. Rated A+ in presentation, the vocals and band are good. Not just plain good, but Good! Sincerely talented enough to keep even me listening through the entire song, the song croons and energizes to the end. I wished the song was actually longer which is also one of a few firsts. If I had to pick one sound on the scene that I really liked and hope to see for awhile, this is one of the top ten. Amazing talent, amazing energy...looking forward to seeing Dragonette around for a long, long time.

A little known band , trio really from Toronto who moved to London. if you need a jolt to the blood stream, a burst of energy and just need a change then this is for you, listen to her sweet sultry and yes even a little naughty and raunchy lyrics and you think of the Divinyls , Pat Benatar, The Motels, and even Berlin I am blown away by this group which I found on Itunes- also a little of the Killers style with Gwen , this group is UNIQUE,ORIGINALand just plain fun to listen to-- so give your scences a new sensation- Top five songs 1* Pick up the phone 2* Stupid grin 3* Come On be Good 4* I Get Around 5* Fixin To Thrill-Galore was first album released in August 2007 then Fixin to Thrill was released in Oct 2009 ..... DRAGONETTE rules !!!!

I enjoyed this new single enough to download the entire album. Nice sound, catchy, and with good beats. I am glad artisits are starting to branch out and try some new things, but with a bit of an old twist. The lead singer reminds me of Christina Amphlett of the Divinyls - able to sound sweet and innocent, but you know there is sooo much more going on. I like Pick up the Phone, as well as other songs on the album, including Big Sunglasses, Don't be Fummy, and Come on be good.
