I purchased these to give as Christmas gifts to my mothers sisters and brothers. I always try to give them all something, but with there being 8 of them, it can get pricey when all you want is a token of your affection and not to be written into wills or anything. SOOOO, I first bought them all picture clocks... pricey. Came upon an ornament as the next idea and... success! BUT finding that many unique ornaments? THIS is a great idea. They all enjoyed them! I liked the fact that this is actually a German custom. I can tell you that my aunt Gisela ( my uncle met her while stationed in Germany) knew all about them and was tickled to receive hers. They came carefully packaged, and all I had to do was go to my get-together, open the box, explain the custom, and let them all reach in and grab one like a party favor! Unbeatable. Now, about next year....

Not at all bed, considering the price. A few things you should be aware of :

-- The size of the ornament itself measures 2.25"
-- Although not translucent, the ornament is painted form the inside, so it does have that glass glair and high reflectivity
-- The color is is much darker then pictured, and is not nearly as saturated

The color was a bit disappointing to me as it does get lost on my 5' tree high branches. That said, it is still a good "filler" ornament that will blend with the tree branches.
