4.0 out of 5 stars Functional and cute, but has a couple flaws., May 19, 2011

I really do love this blanket. We use it in our yard several times a week and at parks, softball games, concerts and more. It is so handy to keep rolled up in the car. It's attractive, soft, and truly is water-resistant so you don't get wet pants if it sits in wet grass. I actually want to get another one, that's how much i love it.
BUT... the soft side of the blanket constantly gets grass and debris stuck in it, which means after every use i have to attack it with a sticky lint roller just to keep it clean. Also, the way it folds up is not at all convenient - the velcro and pocket part needs to be off-set to the side, not centered, so that it folds up more easily. It's hard to explain, but trust me, you'd understand if you were trying to hastily fold it up while also trying to not get the wet side folded onto the soft side, and also holding a baby and trying to keep a toddler close by. Moving the pocket to the side may sound like a trivial thing, but it would make all the difference in the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to fold but very pretty, July 22, 2011

The blanket looks great, is nice and soft and once it's folded up properly it's easy to carry and has a pocket to store things. But you have to flip it over onto the good side to fold it up. Which means if you're at the beach it gets covered in sand. Also it folds in a really unintuitive way (is that a word? Well it is now), this probably sounds like nothing but when you have to fold it up quickly and get all of the rest of your beach stuff together and corral some kids(like herding cats lets be honest) then this is a real inconvenience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof, but thin and could fold up better, October 17, 2011

The pattern (Botanica) is actually a little better looking on the item than as shown in the product photos. Note that this blanket is basically a waterproof tarp with a thin polyester felt backing. If you're sitting on a hard surface, don't count on this item to give you any cushioning. It folds up well enough and the carrying strap is a nice touch. Wish the handle and cover flap were placed differently, since it is a bit awkward to fold up the ground-facing (and often damp and/or muddy) surface without dirtying the entire thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars picnic must have, December 2, 2011

If you go on picnics, or do outdoor family activities this is a must have. It folds back up fairly easy.
Only wish I had gotten it in a darker color. The light tan gets to dirty and now Im always harping on the kids to keep their shoes off of it. Would have been better to get a dark color and not be such a nag ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, very easy to carry., October 3, 2011

Good quality, very easy to carry. I thought It will be bigger and actually it is a little small if you want to use it with your partner in the beach. It works ok for picnic or any situation in which both of you are sitting on it. Sometimes is difficult to follow the wrinkles and fold it exactly as it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspired & far more than just a picnic blanket., December 20, 2011
I got this blanket with a picnic set. It's just so well thought out and made. Overall I love this picnic blanket tote...and use it for camping, beach and just on occasion around the yard and house. I took the design a bit further including two zipper pockets that this doesn't have...but overall thrilled with the blanket. Have had mine for 2+ years and it shows little to no wear or tear but we do take care of our things. Do pay attention on how it's folded the first time or two you use it so you can make sure you get it folded right later putting it away. Also after you wash it the fold marks tend to go away. I would like to see the tote part actually detach. It would make a great baby and small child blanket when traveling and the water proofing makes it especially good for that department for cars too. Pets as well in tent or car or camper or plane/train seats. Just a great all around item with far more than just a picnic blanket that comes with it's own built in tote for cary and storage.

I had a light bulb moment and went this such a great idea for a travel/pillow tote. I first thought I'd make it identical to this but attached to a throw blanket. But soon I was adding sides to the tote & all the way around protective case using light weight water proof pack cloth. So realized I didn't have to keep it attached to the throw. The ones I made can hang on the plane or train seat/table in front of you when you (carry toothbrush/paste etc. in zipper pockets on the tote too.) I put a two inch wide loop velcro strip inside that prevents the fleece throw from sliding sideways & lets me custom add two inch strips of dual sided velcro to cinch up a travel pillow as well as support a water bottle or small thermos. We fold up the blankets and they fit and look pretty much just like this picnic tote except for the part that goes all the way around to meet it's self and even that is set up to go bigger or smaller depending on what we want to carry or size of throw blanket. (With the 72 inch long blankets and pillows and 22 ounce water bottle it's no larger than this tote with the picnic blanket just amazing. I can carry a smaller blanket as I'm shorter and be even smaller.) I've thought about making a throw that has a nylon coated side to sit on during long flights too but probably won't bother.
Overall happy with this picnic tote.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great picnic blanket, June 6, 2011

We used this blanket really often when we go to parks or play in the back yard. There is no chance to get wet pants even the grass is a bit wet. I really like this soft botanica pattern and the touch of fleece. My son once pulled some water on the fleece side, but it is quickly dried under the sun without extra handling. It is a very good price for its high quality.

I haven't used this outdoors yet but have used it inside and it is great. Soft and nice neutral print. The bottom has a water resistant material which I know will be great for picnics or just hanging outside.
