4.0 out of 5 stars Great chair overall
I got this chair after sitting in one that a friend had. I especially like it since the seat is a bit higher which helps my old, creaky knees! The chair is sturdy, lightweight, and folds easily. The side table is great, as well as the pockets on the other side. Only problem is that the great sling strap for carrying over your shoulder broke the first time I used the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Too big, and too medical looking.
This is a big boys chair. I'm 6', 210 lbs, and I felt like a dwarf in this chair. If you are 250 lbs plus, then this is the chair for you. The back rest should at least start in the low back, but this one starts just below the shoulders. Result is that there is no low back support. The chrome colored frame is awful. The chair looks like something that should be in a...

I got this chair after sitting in one that a friend had. I especially like it since the seat is a bit higher which helps my old, creaky knees! The chair is sturdy, lightweight, and folds easily. The side table is great, as well as the pockets on the other side. Only problem is that the great sling strap for carrying over your shoulder broke the first time I used the snap... the entire snap broke in half! I have replaced it with an American made steel snap, but felt those original snaps were certainly a very weak product.
Update: 01/27/2011
I took the seat back off the chair and had it professionally embroidered with my kennel name so now the chair is permanently identified as mine. It stood up perfectly thru many camping trips this past Summer and Fall. Love it even more now!!!

This chair is the envy of ALL my family, they all leave their drinks on MY table. It was well worth the price. It is sturdy and comfortable. I also enjoy it being so light to tote and having a place for EVERYTHING!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy!, May 25, 2008
By
Pros: Sturdy to sit on. Comfortable for a larger behinds. Strong fabric that appears that it will last through a lot of use and support heavier adults well. Carry strap is detachable. Side pocket with compartments is detachable. Light weight and easy to carry without the carry strap. Side table is large and sturdy and well placed. I will be using for camping purposes but doubles well for extra seating in the back yard and will carry easily to the neighborhood block party providing me with my own table for dinner.

Cons: Side table is a speckled look. (black, white and gray) I would have preferred a soid color or stainless steel like the rest of the table.

5.0 out of 5 stars New chair in time, September 19, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a dog agility addict and my PICNIC TIME CHAIR is part of my normal travel gear. I love the comfort of sitting "on" a chair rather than "in" it. I find the side table extremely useful and the pockets come in handy to store dog treats, pens, course maps, drinks etc. I lost my first chair and ordered a new one right away. I received it in time to use at my next trial. If you ever come upon a Dog Agility Trial whether it be AKC, USDAA or whatever, you will find dozens of these chairs in very attractive colors. Also I may add that an on-line purchase saves money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too big, and too medical looking., April 14, 2009

This is a big boys chair. I'm 6', 210 lbs, and I felt like a dwarf in this chair. If you are 250 lbs plus, then this is the chair for you. The back rest should at least start in the low back, but this one starts just below the shoulders. Result is that there is no low back support. The chrome colored frame is awful. The chair looks like something that should be in a hospital. I'm trying to return it but the return instructions to CostBuy are not easily found. I'm waiting for a response from them. Not real happy about that. Returns directly to Amazon are easy, but not the same to CostBuy so far.

On the positive side, the chair is very light, and very well built and solid. The tray and storage compartment are nice features. If it were smaller, and the frame was another color, it would be a perfect chair.

I now own 7 of these chairs and they are the best I have found. Light weight and easy to carry. I wish they made them for young children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picnic Time Sports Chair 809-00, January 7, 2008
By
This is a very sturdy, stable chair - not one that will easily tip over in the parking lot at the football game. It's also easy to get out of - especially since you can leave your beverage and food on the nifty tray. Really a must have for the serious tailgater!

1.0 out of 5 stars Stitching Came Undone, June 10, 2011
By
Source One MRO (Carlsbad, CA, US) - See all my reviews
In April of 2010, based on great reviews I bought 2 of these chairs. Six months later the stitching started ripping out on one of the chairs. I only weigh 165 pounds (my wife 107 pounds) so take that for what it's worth. Anyway, I put the broken chair aside, said nothing to the supplier, and forgot about it. Then in May of 2011, one year and one month after buying them the second chair stitching ripped out, in the exact same place as the first chair. I would have hoped to get more than a year out of them, like maybe 5 years. I contacted the supplier and they are trying to get the manufacturer to warranty them but haven't heard back yet. It sounded doubtful that they will do anything. They are made in China and the supplier is CostBuy. Edited June 22, 2011, I guess Costbuy hated my review and gave up on trying to get the manufacturer to stand behind their product quality.

FYI, I just opened up my brand new Coleman Deck Chair w/ Table ASIN: B004XGF6KQ, it looks great and is very comfortable. Time will tell whether it's any better but it appears to be better built and I think it is a better chair. Hope this review helps. Oh and I have two broken Picnic Time Portable Folding Sports Chairs, Hunter Green, that I will give away free to anyone that would like them. All you have to do is stitch the seats back on to the frame and they will be good as new, for one year old chairs anyway!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Picnic Chair, September 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My husband I frequently attend outdoor concerts in the summer. For the past two years, I've been on a quest to find the perfect picnic chair; one that is light and portable with plenty of pockets for some of the inevitable "stuff" we bring along with us. While attending a concert at Ravinia -- Chicago's answer to Tanglewood -- I came across this sideline sports chair. Problem was, it was a bit more than I cared to spend.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I conducted a Google search and discovered that Amazon -- my online site of choice for all my books -- was offering the same chair (minus Ravinia logo) for about $20 less a chair. I quickly purchased, and received the chairs within the week. They not only met, but exceeded, my expectations: they're very comfortable, very transportable, and very versatile. And as an added bonus, they come in lots of colors, including my favorite, red. I'm thrilled with this product and suspect you will be, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, August 26, 2011
This folding sports chair was purchased for someone with a bad back. It is light enough to be carried easily but is substantial and stable, offering more support and comfort than cheaper ones I tested in local stores. It's very easy to open and fold up again; the directions are attached under the seat.
