Nice piece, looks great, but.....,

This is a very nice piece of furniture. The wood is real and it looks great in my house. I was skeptical about buying after reading the other reviews but my husband and I are good at "building" furniture. So we went ahead with it. A couple of the pieces were not made correctly. We were able to fix them but that doesn't help those who can't. I will be calling the toll free number on the front of the instructions and complaining because for the price - it should be perfect.

Not worth the money,

This item arrived last night. First off, it is easy to put together. The individual pieces I received were cracked and the joints that were glued at the factory were misalighned. It is not worth us sending it back because of the hoops that we have to jump through. We are going to keep it until the joints give out. You get what you pay for.

cute bench - reasonable price,

We purchased this from Target. It took about 30 minutes to assemble with no difficulties. It is a nice product for the bargain price. (We shopped for similar products online for a little better quality and the next best thing was $299 to $500!) The added cushion with removable cover that is washable is a bonus. The only complaint was that the packaging was poor quality so there were a few dents but they were not noticeable after assembly.

Reasonable price, but lacking in basic quality,

We bought 5 pieces in this collection and needed to return 3 of them due to manufacture defect. There were scratches on noticable areas and poorly drilled holes which made assembly impossible. For example, this bench comes with magnetic doors for closure- the magnetic strip and metal piece were severely misaligned. We had to remove the magnet and glue it in its proper place to ensure the doors would remain closed.

I honestly expected more from Target. The price is reasonable, but it's a gamble on if the box you choose will be defective. Then you are left with a headache to return such a cumbersome item. Our luck was not good- 3 out of 5 to be returned is not good odds. Buyer beware or at least forewarned.

This item arrived in a filthy but otherwise intact box. Virtually every single piece had been damaged. The top had a crushed corner that did not correspond to any damage in the packing materials. All the holes for the screw-in standoffs had been torn out of the panels. New holes had been sloppily drilled in inappropriate locations, and every panel was scratched or gouged. My theory is that the original purchaser was a particularly uncoordinated retard (no offense to you retards out there who may be reading this) who, unable to grasp the assembly instructions, proceeded to assemble it forcibly in a manner that appealed to his peculiar conception, in this case, of a kennel or perhaps a treehouse, drilling holes randomly to achieve this end. Ultimately frustrated by his inability to render his magnum opus within the constraints of the provided materials, he set upon it with a crowbar. Think Homer Simpson in the backyard barbecue episode. He then shipped it back to Target, where yet another retard (gee, there sure do seem to be a lot of them working in retail sales) carefully repacked the mangled mess for shipment to me, the sucker who still thinks he should get a new object when he pays full price. So now I get to try to pack this nightmare and ship it back to them. While I do support full employment for the mentally challenged, I can't help but wonder if they're really the best choice as merchandise inspectors. I've requested a replacement; stand by for the conclusion of this thrilling tale.

Lovely Piece of Furniture/Good Value - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS LEAVE A GREAT DEAL TO BE DESIRED!,

Now that the bench has been assembled, it looks lovely. HOWEVER, it took two of my sons-in-law to assemble it. The directions are very confusing and, in some instances, are out-and-out WRONG! As mentioned by other reviewers, the door magnets were mis-aligned and had to be redone.

Mission Bench,

After reading the reviews online about this bench, I was debating whether I wanted to purchase it or not. I loved the style and figured what did I have to lose. If it wasn't up to par, I would not hesitate to return it and get my money back, even if it didn't fit back in the box. I'm certainly not going to throw my money away. I had no problem putting it together, the hardware it came with worked fine. I've worked with camlocks in the past, and I've put all kinds of furniture together. It took me 45 minutes to put it together. I LOVE IT. Don't always believe what other people say, if you like it take a chance and attempt it yourself.

I had been looking at this bench for months, but after reading all of the negative reviews I almost didn't buy it. However, I did and I love it! It was easy for me to assemble by myself and the cushion is comfortable and looks great! The only negative is that there are a couple scrapes on the wood, however they're on the back of the bench so little things like that don't bother me!

I've had good experiences with most furniture pieces from this collection, but this was not one of them. It arrived with one piece damaged; other pieces were warped or not cut straight. It was very difficult to assemble -- DO NOT attempt this by yourself, at least if it is as difficult to fit together as mine. Also, don't buy it if you think someone who weighs more than 200 pounds might sit on it (as per a warning in the package, and judging by the quality of the materials). Also, be careful when screwing in the metal pegs. The metal is soft and the head will strip out easily, as will the anchors that snug them down.
