5.0 out of 5 stars YESSS! Tons of fun.
We have been waiting for this! We like Pictionary a lot but never play it because it means going into the closet, getting it out, setting it up, cleaning up afterward etc. But not now! This is more or less WHY we got the UDraw, and the game is brilliant. It takes about two minutes to set everything up on the screen, and then you go right into playing. There are...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as fun as the board game for us.
The pad is pretty pricey,$69.96 + the game of $39.99/ or $29.99 on sale. To us, it just wasn't worth the money. We love to play Pictionary, but not at this cost. Not going to play it much. You only need one drawing pad, that is used for both teams. Draw pad draw area is pretty small and very touchy. It is nice to have colors and spray paint and shape features, but it...

5.0 out of 5 stars YESSS! Tons of fun., November 17, 2010

There are on-screen prompts to tell you what to do, a voice to guide you, and you can set your own time length. Then we discovered "Pictionary Mania," which is kind of crazy and much more complex but once you get into it, so much fun. I don't think our old Pictionary board game will get used much anymore. This is WAY more fun, and you get a review at the end of all of the images you created. OK, one thing I'll miss is digging through the box to find the clues we drew years ago, but it's a small price to pay. We ALL played this, no one got bored in the slightest, and it's going to be fun for parties and get-togethers too! HIGHEST RATING from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family fun night is back, November 25, 2010

This review is from: Pictionary - Udraw (Video Game)
This digitized version of the popular family board game makes the most of the udraw tablet and improves on the experience of an already fun family game. The scraps of paper and broken pencil nubs are replaced with a plastic drawing board (child friendly and actually very sturdy) that can be passed around between teams.

The game relies on an honesty system since there are no physical cards to refer to (and shield from prying eyes) while everyone is sitting in front of the television. The person drawing selects a secret clue area, dragging it away to reveal the subject. A twinkling sound accompanies the reveal of the clue, allowing honest players to know when they can uncover their eyes or turn back to face the screen. On the off chance someone turns back too quickly or simply doesn't know how to draw the object or action, a new clue can be generated at will without penalty.

The clues are split into two piles: simpler hints for children and more advanced ones for adults to draw. The choice is available on a per-question basis, so there's no risk of locking yourself into a game too tough for the players.

The system is very easy and intuitive and there is essentially no learning curve.

We've been playing Pictionary with a white board and markers for years (very messy). This makes it easy (and clean) for the whole family/group to play!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as fun as the board game for us., December 24, 2010

The pad is pretty pricey,$69.96 + the game of $39.99/ or $29.99 on sale. To us, it just wasn't worth the money. We love to play Pictionary, but not at this cost. Not going to play it much. You only need one drawing pad, that is used for both teams. Draw pad draw area is pretty small and very touchy. It is nice to have colors and spray paint and shape features, but it isn't worth the price.

All plays are drawn by the rolling/whose turn it is, is the person who draws, then both teams can guess. This board on the screen has stop signs and you have to stop and play that square, even if you roll a 5 and you only moved one square.

We just love to play pictionary at family things, but we just play the board game way. We always used to use paper, but that got messy and costly. So, instead of using paper, we just use several dry erase boards and different color markers. A whole lot better than paper by far!

Between the Wii version VS the Board game version:
The Wii is limited to little draw pad, not portable unless someone else in your family has the Wii console. The Wii version has adult or junior clues. When the clue is given, others must look away, but there is a lot of players that peek, so that isn't very fair.

Board game version, portable and you can use dry erase boards that are bigger to draw on. Both versions have to be stored.

Just love the pictionary board game, just wish the Wii version wasn't so expensive.
In the end, we prefer the board game way over the Wii game anyways. Cheaper, more clues and way more fun!

HAVE A FAMILY GAME NIGHT AND HAVE SOME FUN WHICHEVER VERSION YOU CHOOSE. EITHER WAY, PICTIONARY GAME IS FUN EVEN IF YOU CAN'T DRAW. REMEMBER, IT IS ALL IN THE GUESSING! ENJOY!

4.0 out of 5 stars Different but Fun!, August 21, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pictionary - Udraw (Video Game)
Being that I haven't played Pictionary in over ten years, I thought this game was pretty cool. First off you do need the uDraw tablet for the Wii, which I actually got my son for his birthday, although this game is for me! Whats nice is that there is no setup or cleanup that is typically involved with Pictionary, which is why I probably stopped playing Pictionary!

Playing Pictionary on the Wii I thought would be a challenge but it actually was pretty easy to get used it. The uDraw tablet is pretty easy to use and there are buttons and voice prompts to guide you through. It is strange though as the other players have to cover their eyes while the drawer is checking out their "card." Then the drawer gets going and reveals clues. There are easier clues and then more advanced ones, so kids to adults can play the game! There are also different modes for playing: Original and Pictionary Mania. If you are looking for a challenge or party game, Pictionary Mania is a version to check out as you have to do weird but fun drawing tasks! Overall, if you like Pictionary and are looking for more uDraw games, definitely check out Pictionary!

This game is a nice twist to the original. It lets you know what catagory your word is in. It is easy enough my eight year old can play with the adults and have fun too.

Looking at the TV and drawing took a little while to get used to, but the Pictionary game that goes with this is so much fun!! It adds a little excitement and a challenge, I would recommend it to anyone!
