Italian Liners & Passenger Ships,
By James Burt (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Picture History of the Italian Line, 1932-1977 (Paperback)
This new book just published by William H. Miller by Dover Publishing in 1999 is a good source of information on the Italian Line, established on January 2, 1932, by Italian Premier Benito Mussolini. It focuses on the history of the line from the earliest ships of the line, to the Rex, Conte di Savoi, Andrea Doria, Chistoforo Columbo, the Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and the Raffaelo.

This review is from: The Picture History of the Italian Line, 1932-1977 (Paperback)
Having lived close enough to visit the lower part of Manhattan, this history book is able to recapture the glory days of when ocean greyhounds crossed the Atlantic! I feel bad that I missed seeing so many of these beautiful liners, but Mr. Miller's book brings them back to life again.
