I know people who spent a fortune on programs like Adobe Photoshop because they wanted "the best." But they end up using PictureIt! because it's just plain easier. Unless you're a professional graphic designer, you'll find that this program meets all your needs, and most importantly, it's EASY! I've used PictureIt! it since 2000 and it makes short work of scanning from digital cameras, cropping and adjusting photos, fixing red eye, compressing photos for the web, or creating fun projects like greeting cards. Can't recommend it enough.

For the price...Picture It! is a suitable program that works well for the beginner.

There are few, if any, bells and whistles on it. For somebody who is just starting photo editing, that could be a plus: You have basic cropping and red eye reduction features.

The low points are that the selections of what you can do with the photos is severely limited: you can change a color photo into black and white or give it an antique look. This is nothing special as most digital cameras (see Hewlett Packard) come with software you can load that perform this trick. The antique look isn't sepia, just a washed out affair that makes you wonder why they even bothered giving it to you.

Picture It! came with my version of PUBLISHER, which happens to be an excellent program. So, if you got it as an add-on, explore it and learn the basics before you move onto a more sophisticated program. If your digital camera came with software for photo editing and printing, you'd probably be better off using that. This isn't a bad program - just one that does little but waste disk space.

Very good application, easy to learn if you take the time to try and with a little practice and a digital camera you will never again pay anyone to develop or print your photos. All the features are straight forward and easily understood. It has every editing feature the average user will ever use.

I found this program to be easy and enjoyable. You can frame, add color, create illusions, edit, and have fun with your photos. It makes printing a snap with the photo templates. Even address labels and business cards.
The clip art gallery could be of better quality but for [$$] who can complain?

My new computer came with Picture It! I was used to using Addobe PhotoDeluxe, but you can't get it anymore. So, I decided to give Picture It! a try. Right from the beginning I was frustrated. The tools and commands are easy to use, but I had trouble saving my work. I tried over and over again to save and my system kept freezing. I lost 3 hours of work on the first night. Then I tried reinstalling the program. That helped, but I still kept getting "runtime error, abnormal program termination." I lost more work. I have also not been able to perform touchups with the "freehand painting" the way I want. For some reason, despite everything I try, I cannot get ANY tool or ANY custom painting options to give me a sharp, crisp line. All my painting looks blurry and airbrushed. I have tried my computer manufacturers support but they could not help. I am now trying Microsoft's help, but after several days of correspondence, they have not been able to help either. I've decided to dump Picture It! and see if I can get an old copy of Adobe PhotoDeluxe from ebay.

I've always felt that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. Well, I'm breaking that rule.

I bought this software today to supplement the excellent PhotoSuite that I already own. My only gripe with Photosuite is that there aren't enough photo templates. I thought that this software (which claims a "wide variety" of templates) would go well with Photosuite. Forget it. You need specialty paper for most of the templates. Forget manipulating pictures. It can be done, but not easily and not well. After a frustrating two hours with this software, I gave up and Uninstalled it. My system still crashed and with the help of a very nice guy at IBM support (thanks, Brian!) I was able to reboot and restore. But I lost two hours of a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Don't waste your money on this monstrosity. I will get a rebate from Microsoft, which I will donate to charity. As for the software, I'm going to see if I can give it away. Shame on me. I have just stuck with my great Photosuite.

Making quality looking graphics can take time. But with Picture It, it doesn't have to. It may not do everything the big programs do, but most often, you don't need all the bells and whistles anyway. The price is good; it's easy to use; and the outcome is professional.

I love Picture It! I love that I can make cut outs and crop with different shapes. Very user friendly! Also, I received my item before it was scheduled to arrive! WooHoo!!!
