New Allison Moorer fan,

I heard this song featuring Sheryl Crow and I really liked it but I couldnt seem to find the CD single featuring her so I broke down and bought the version featuring Allison Moorer. After hearing Alison Moorer sing, I just want to say that the Sheryl Crow version does not do this song any justice. I think Ms. Moorer has taken this song to a whole new level. She could actually sing this song by herself. To me,her voices just opens up this song. I like Kid Rock, but he is just the back up. I have never heard of Ms. Moorer before, but I will buy Ms. Moorer's work.

Kid Rock fans are upset it's not Sheryl Crow. Country fans are upset that it's Kid Rock. This version just can't catch a break. Two points about this version. 1) It is a great contemporary country song, as good or better than most of what's out there. 2) I find Allison Moorer's more complex voice a better counterpoint to Kid Rock's vocals than Sheryl's, especially set against a more country arrangement. This is no knock on Sheryl Crow. She is a very talent woman who deserves the accolades she receives. My only complaint with the song is that it tends to be a bit repetitive and looses its punch towards the end of it's 5 minute run.

I don't know who this Joshua Yeary is, but he obviously doesn't know much about music if he isn't familiar with Allison Moorer. This is a classic, old school, cheatin' lovers country song, in either version. While I love Sheryl Crow, this song is just not meant for her... her rendition is a little too sweet and girly. Whereas Ms. Moorer, as another reviewer mentioned, has a much more complex voice; it is every bit as whiskey-soaked and world-weary as this song calls for. Sure, it's a cliche, but in its own way, this version works-- you can easily imagine it being recorded fifteen years ago by George Strait and Tanya Tucker, or decades ago by Hank Williams, Sr. and Patsy Cline. I've never been a big Kid Rock fan, but THIS VERSION of this song just might convert me.

The Best of Kid Rock,

I can't believe that a 55 year old woman can honestly say she enjoys Kid Rock's music but she does. His duet with Allison Moorer and Sheryl Crow are excellent so I bought both versions. I actually wanted to purchase Kid Rock's clean version of Cocky because I think it is excellent. He is talented and the cussing doesn't bother me but I think the song picture shows his real talent. The song is great even when he sangs alone. Kid should do more songs like picture.

Cheryl Crow is a FANTASTIC talent! But let's face it she's no Allison Moorer. When I saw this on live TV (Farm Aid) it blew me away! Allison's voice is always full of emotion. Kid Rock has that Detroit rough edge. The combination makes for a great country song. The Crow & Rock version is smoother and more radio friendly. If you are only going to buy one version, THIS IS IT!

The perfect country-rock crossover,

This song works on all levels. Seedy yet romantic, two cheating lovers long to change their addictive ways and hope for redemption. Not a wasted or untrue word in the lyrics, all set to a perfect country/rock/blues tune. Whether Ms. Moore or Ms. Crow is singing, both versions rock.

I agree that Allison Moorer is not as good as Sheryl Crow, but when I listened to this duet with both artists, I could barely tell the difference. They sounded so much alike, I couldn't really pick a favorite out of the two. Either way you look at it, this song gets an A+ in my book!!
