Book Description

May 12, 2009 Harlequin Super Romance (Book 1564)

Only in Hollywood would someone like Mac McGannon fall for someone like Morgana Carlyle. After all, he's a struggling miner trying to be a single dad and she's a celebrity who's been on magazine covers. She's so gorgeous, Mac's little girl is convinced Morgana is a princess. And everyone knows princesses aren't parent material.

Or are they? Because his daughter has already decided Morgana would make the perfect mom--for her. And Mac has to admit it's not hard to picture himself with Morgana in a forever kind of way. There's just one problem: Morgana is definitely not who she says she is.

More About the Author

Debra Salonen wrote her first story in crayon on the underside of her mother's coffee table. Her mother was not amused. Subsequent writing efforts included a screenplay for Flipper--in block print on lined paper (you can see why it never got picked up, right?), a spy thriller --okay, a blatant rip-off of James Bond; an Irma Bombeck-esque series of letters to her family, which might have come across as a tad more whiny than amusing, and, eventually, she enjoyed a four-year stint as an award-winning feature writer for a newspaper.

In 2000, her first romance novel was published by Harlequin for its Superromance line. That novel, THAT COWBOY'S KIDS, has recently been re-released, bringing Deb's total number of published books to 30. Her May 2010 release, UNTIL HE MET RACHEL, was honored by RTBook Reviews as the Reviewer's Choice for "Best Superromance of 2010."

In addition to her two current Superromance titles, RETURN TO THE BLACK HILLS and A FATHER'S QUEST, Deb is enjoying a renewed flirtation with short stories. Her first Kindle release, "A Hundred Years or More," looks at that special bond between a pet and his owner, and what happens when a pet--in this case, a parrot--outlives his owner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sentinel Pass #4, June 29, 2009
This review is from: Picture-Perfect Mom (Harlequin Super Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Mac McGannon is a miner who is still bitter at his dead wife for stealing his inheritance and then driving her car off a road. If anyone had told him a year ago that he'd be a single dad with an indoor dog and a little girl who was afraid of the dark, he would have called them crazy. And add a famous heartthrob brother-in-law and a new business in the mix and he'd have laughed himself silly. Yet here he is, trying his best to raise his four, almost five, year old daughter, Megan, all alone. Mac also has to deal with the fact that his grandmother will soon die. Gran has not been herself for a long time now. The last thing Mac needs is to be attracted to Morgana Carlyle. She is the celebrity playing the role of his sister, Libby, in the television series set in his town. Megan thinks Morgana is a princess and wants to be exactly like her.

Morgana thinks Megan is adorable and her father is certainly easy on the eyes. The more time she spends with the pair, the more she wishes she could be a part of their lives. But everything about Morgana, now and in her past, is a lie. She has worked too hard to achieve some success in show business. And should Mac ever find out who she really is, he would despise her forever. Her past simply HAD to stay in the past. If only her heart would listen to that logic.

**** FOUR STARS! This is the fourth story set in the small town of Sentinel Pass, South Dakota. You do not have to read them in order since each book has a stand-alone story; however, some of the secondary characters are from the previous titles. If you read these out of order, you risk minor spoilers.

There is no physical danger in this episode, but the drama runs high as the main characters deal with multiple problems. Mac and Morgana's relationship resembles a soap opera, so you will find many twists and surprises. Take a deep, calming breath before you open this gem and walk into some scenes you may never forget. ****
