Book Description

Lea Wilson needed a nice, relaxing break. What she didn't need was to run into an annoying, rugged photojournalist - one who lived in her hotel and frequented her fantasies.

There’s no way she’ll ever be with Adam Brenner. He’s unpredictable and risks his life every day – what she needs is a dependable man who wants to settle down. Too bad the chemistry between them is so hot…

She'd almost reached the photographer by now. He didn't look worried that she'd seen him and come up to him - he hadn't attempted to run away, he didn't have that nervous look most of them got when she approached them, and strangely enough, he hadn't tried to take any more photos of her.

His eyes crinkled at the corners and he smiled at her in an irritatingly friendly way.

Lea wasn't about to waste time on pleasantries. "Give me your camera," she demanded coldly.

He raised on eyebrow quizzically, the smile never leaving his face. Now that she was closer, Lea realized it was a rather nice smile - softly curving lips, and happily sparkling chocolate-brown eyes. The man had a strangely unkempt look about himself - his hair fell to his eyes in soft waves, and looked like it hadn't been cut in a while. Dark stubble covered his square jaw, and shadows under his eyes gave her the impression that he hadn't slept in a while. And there was something haunting behind his smile, too, something dark and curious…

Stop it. She must've gone without men for a long time if she found this annoying camera-slinger attractive. She tried to ignore the fact that he was tall and lean, and his baby-blue t-shirt and cargo shorts hinted at well-defined muscles, and focused on his eyes. Why was he still smiling?

"Excuse me?" His voice was dark and smooth like his hair.

"You heard me. Your camera, now."

She held out her hand and her scowl deepened.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Sweet Read December 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I think Adam is my favorite character in any romance novel till date. He's not a billionaire, but he is successful as a war-zone photojournalist and he's passionate about what he does. He's seen a lot of terrible things, and I love how this part of the story is handled. It makes me feel like I was there listening to Adam. He's strong and powerful, he's also laid back and relaxed. He's the kind of man you want to take care of you! He seems very real, and I really admire him as a person. I wish I could meet him!

Lea is an interesting character too, and she's also got a bit of a past. Overall, their romance is sweet and delicate and you keep hoping they'll sort things out. Of course, just when you think everything's going to work out, an unexpected bomb is dropped! I loved the twist.

I haven't read the first book, Pink Rose, but am off to download it now. You don't have to read Pink Rose to enjoy this book, since this story is about Amelia (Lea) WIlson and the first one was about Max Wilson.

This is a very sweet, happy read :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lea and Adam's story December 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
After reading Pink Rose (which is available as a free download on Amazon) by the same writer, I was eager to read more of her work. Picture Perfect follows Pink Rose, but it's not a "sequel" per se; this is the story of Amelia Wilson, the sister of Max Wilson (who was in Pink Rose). It's a steamy, sweet romance.

This is a bit of an unexpected romance. The characters are very real but different from typical romance characters. Adam Brenner is a tough war-zone photojournalist who's been through a lot and still manages to stay relaxed and happy with life. The bit where he explains how he deals with having seen such terrible things is probably one of the best bits in the book. Lea Wilson is also different from most female romance heroines - she has a bit of a bad past, and now owns and runs a successful hedge fund. She's an obsessive planner.

Of course, when two people so opposite meet, things don't happen easily! I really hoped Lea would find the love she deserved. A curve ball is thrown in towards the end and I guess Lea's reaction is believable but I kept hoping she would do the right thing.

Anyway, no spoilers from me! You'll have to read the whole thing to find out ;)

3.0 out of 5 stars Short and kind of cute February 13, 2013
By Jean
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lea, a former high-society party girl turned investor, and Adam, a laid-back war-zone photojournalist meet when they stay at the same hotel in St. Martin - she is there for a wedding and a work-related conference and he is there on an enforced vacation while his wounded leg heals.

This book had its moments but it was really too short (just over 100 pages) to have any in-depth character development or to show us why they fell so hard for each other that they were willing to make huge life changes in order to stay together.

Recommended if you are looking for something without too much depth to entertain you for a couple of hours.

Adult language and explicit sexual content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect? January 1, 2013

This book is a novella. She was a rich spoilt woman who did drink and drugs hounded by the papparazzi. Then a near tragedy happens which changes all of that causing her to turn her life around. The last six years she has started her own successful business, so decides to take a summer break on a months holiday to a beautiful island. He is a serious photographer who covers all the war torn stories around the world. On one of his assignments he is injured, his boss pays for him to take a months break to a holiday island! She is playing with a puppy on the beach, he is there at the same beach taking some photos of his holiday and catches her in his camera lens. Then she walks over asking for his camera in an angry voice. Read more of this gentle story to find out what happens. The author has written a love story, which makes you wonder how it will work out between these two people. A quick read that keeps you from putting your kindle down.

3.0 out of 5 stars One thing drove me nuts! December 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Picture Perfect got better the further I read, and it was still just "okay". But one thing, repeated throughout, drove me nuts, and that was the author continually calling the island location St. Martin's when it is actually just St. Martin with no "s". I realize that seems picky, but to me, it makes the author seem lazy, as if she doesn't really care. It's easier to get lost in a book when it's written with care.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short, cute December 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a short, cute romance. He is a war photojournalist that has been hurt and sent to St. Martin to recover. She is there to attend a friend's wedding. Sparks fly and they are attracted but know they have nothing in common and it cannot go anywhere, however, he is quite the guy. I loved how he just walked away when she started acting stupid. But he did keep coming back. I would have liked to have seen her grovel just a bit. He seemed the much better catch to me.

It was an entertaining read and I would recommend it.
