This review is from: Picture Rocks: American Indian Rock Art in the Northeast Woodlands (Paperback)
Most people don't even know that prehistoric Indians in the northeast created art similar to those in the southwest - that is because the drawings are chipped in stone and can sometimes only be seen when the sun is at the right angle. Lenik has been traveling throughout the northeast, discovering and studying these drawings, for years. This is his first book on the topic (another is on the way).
Ed's clear prose is the epitome of archaeological accuracy - I know that because every time I bring him what I think is a prehistoric Indian artifact, he laughs at me. The writing is accompanied by the fine artwork of Tom Fitzgerald and many photographs by both of them. The edition is well-crafted with thick pages, high resolution images and is a pleasure to read.
