5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Book for Ages 3 to 7 Who Are Learning to Read September 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Length: 2:00 Mins
Julia Dweck's "Pie-Rits: A Pirate Adventure" is a children's book on baked goods going out on the seven seasons in search of their lost treasure. This book is published exclusively in e-book format, which means it might not be available in your local bookstores, but that doesn't mean that it lacks the same professional quality. Julie Dweck made sure to get a good quality edit on this work and a great illustrator to go along with her written words. The artwork on every page of this book is brilliant, vivid, and entertaining, and the story that goes along with it is the same quality of top-notch work. It's a sing-songy narrative that's fun to read, gets a lot of laughs out of both children and the adults that are reading it. It clocks in at the perfect length too. Whether you're reading this in your classroom, to your children, or to your son or daughter as they're going to bed at night, I'd say it would take about ten minutes for an adult to read.

If you're looking to have this be a book that your child reads as their learning how to pick up on bigger words, it might take them fifteen minutes or so. Not too short that your kids are looking for more, but not too long that they get bored either. It's just perfect.

You can't really go wrong with Julia Dweck's Pie-Rits and I recommended it to all parents with children in the ages of three to seven in getting the most entertainment value out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Doughy Adventure August 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Cherry Cupcake has always wished to be rescued by a prince. She meets Pierre a young French bread and his buddy Victor the crescent roll who have sailed the seas. She is impressed by them and goes with them on their sailing adventure to catch the Pie-Rits who have stolen the dough.

This is a charming and fun-filled story for all children as the adventure unfolds. The rhyming in this book is entertaining and very clever. Their journey is fun filled and daring with wonderful characters that are illustrated brilliantly by Fian Arroyo.

Pie-Rits is another wonderful children's book by Julia Dweck. Children will be delighted by this Pirate story that is quite unique and charming. Children along with their parents will enjoy this lively fun story.

A colourful children's book, told in rhyme and with good humour, with some great illustrations that are eye catching and some wonderful imaginative characters that will appeal to children. Pie-Rits is ideal for early readers and will be a story that young children will want read to them again and again.

My seven year old enjoyed the Pie Rits and endorses the tale for the battle scene. The illustrations are bright and detailed. We will read again with his sister.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible, but deleted after a single read
This would be better if it DIDN'T rhyme - the rhythm didn't flow very well, and I was tripping over sentences as I tried to read it. Read more
