The set is very beautiful and the table looks great with this dinner wear on it.
Book Lover
4 large square, flared edge mugs, 4 bowl-like plates that are fairly shallow bottomed, but good for salads, pastas etc.
Shanshad
The dinner plate appears to be very large, but that is due to mainly to the wavy edge.

This Francois et Mimi dish set lays out nicely across our dining room table. If you like the wave design, as we now do, then they'll match nicely with different colored napkins and rings to make a fine dinner party.

This is a heavy set. Our daughter calls the cups, "Hagrid cups"(from Harry Potter fame). This may be a plus or minus if you're looking instead for fine, delicate dinnerware. The designs are uniform. They indent slightly the middle of one edge; the large cups offer a square look with big, looping handles. My wife likes them for her coffee.

Dishwasher and microwave safe, they take a fair amount of space in the washer and cabinet. They remind me of the dishes that one gets at a fancy, smancy restaurant where they give one these beautiful, big plates and center a small, dollop of food with one thin asparagus stick and a parsley sprig.

Load them up with your favorite food and enjoy. A good price.

As you can see from my title, the one thing that is losing the final star is the fact that this product is made in China. I prefer that all of my dinnerware be Made in America where I believe there are more regulations and standards to be upheld. Ok.. off the soapbox.

I LOVE LOVE dinnerware. To the point of it being an addiction. I have cheap plates, expensive and sets that are right in the middle. The best when it comes to lifetime warranty and availability will always be Lenox; but with Lenox you are also paying for that warranty up front in price. These plates are beautiful (at least to our family) and considered to be on the lower end of middle for price and quality. Packaging from the company is severely lacking as I have mentioned previously in my other reviews with different products that have been ordered. These were packaged the WORST. They arrived in the carton that came from the company and flat thin cardboard pieces to 'supposedly' keep the dinnerware from clanking together. Unfortunately for us, two of the dinner plates arrived broken and I have not been able to locate if there is any sort of warranty available for items that arrive damaged. Please keep that in mind if ordering from another company besides Amazon.

Upon further review of the contents, I found that there was not any literature enclosed to the prospective consumer. They do not state where they are made, materials, warranties... anything! This truly turned me off as someone who loves to have all the information at my fingertips or at least pointing me towards a website where I can read on the product.

As for the dinnerware, it is beautiful, simple, understated with a tiny bit of humorous flair. The flair is that small wave or ripple on only one side of the plates and soup bowl.

I love the Francois et Mimi 16 piece set of white dinnerware. The wave pattern is very modern looking, but I also love the extra indentation on one side of each plate. It helps with holding the plates and that is a great idea. The entire dinnerware set is heavy and well made. They are dishwasher and microwave safe. The set is very beautiful and the table looks great with this dinner wear on it. The mugs will hold a lot of coffee, which is fine for my family. The dinner plates are large and might not fit everyone's cabinet. The soup/salad plates are the perfect size. The entire set reminds me of a Top Chef or Food Network cooking presentation. The dinnerware set really looks that good.

I love the design of these. They have an elegant modern design, but with a kick - the waviness takes some of the pretension out and makes them just slightly whimsical. In terms of the feel, it is very solid. They do fine in the diswasher as well, although they take a bit more room than round plates due to the corners, so you may need to fiddle a lot more with placement. While the top plate in the picture looks like a plate, it's somewhat deep and so serves more like a bowl, but a shallow one. Maybe a "blate" or a "plolwl"? My only wish would be that there would be a saucer for the cup - that would make this set complete, but other than that, it's a great set!

For whatever reason, in the image that is shown it conceals the odd extra small deep waves on the one side of the plates and bowls. I didn't care for it at first but now it has grown on me. They make my dinner presentation look nicer, for what it is worth. The only thing I don't like about the set is the take up more room in the dishwasher and in the cabinets. The set feels sturdy.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
These dishes are very cute, very modern looking, and go nicely with just about anything. I have some more traditional white round dishware, and these add a little extra oomph when mixed and matched with those. Of course, basic white means you can put all sorts of different serving dishes, tablecloths, accessories with these and they'll look great.

There were some very minor imperfections in my set, a few very tiny bubbles and one tiny grayish mark on the underside of a plate that aren't likely to be noticed unless someone is looking very closely. Also, the inside of the bottom of the cups look a little bumpy, not as smooth as I expected.

They work well in the microwave.

They are, however, cupboard hogs, and more importantly, dishwasher hogs. Because the pieces are quite large and deep, they do not fit into my dishwasher nearly as well as the more traditional ones. The handles on the cups are large and extend down the sides quite a way so are not stackable. The other pieces do stack nicely.

The cups are attractive but hard to use. Drinking out of a straight sided cup takes some practice and is not as comfortable as the more traditional rounded cups.

The cups are quite large, and I can use the "large" cup setting on my K-cup machine, add creamer, and still not be overly full.

So...cute, not perfect, versatile, and fun.
