Product Description

This 3 Piece Jewellers Pliers Pack contains:

Round Nose Pliers:
Like chain nose pliers, the jaw width is largest near the pivot and tapers to a point at the tip, but the differ in that both jaws are circular. These essential pliers have a variety of uses, such as: creating hoops, eye pins, clasps and jump rings, coils and curved bends. 5.5 inches.

Chain Nose Pliers:
The jaws of chain nose pliers are both semi circular and meet along the flat edge. The width is largest near the pivot and tapers to a point at the tip. They are typically used to create angled bends in wire, close bead tips, open and close jump rings and form loops. 5.5 inches.

Side Cutter:
These feature jaws that are angled and pointed so that they are nearly parallel to the handles, which makes the cut to the side of the cutter. These standard wire cutters are suitable for Tigertail, headpins, eyepins and soft wire. They are NOT suitable for cutting memory wire, flex wire or steel wire. 5.5 inches.

I was in need of a couple more pairs of pliers and better wire cutters than what I was using. I saw this set and thought, "Great! All three that I need in one set!" I'm kicking myself for not getting separate pliers and cutters. The round nose pliers are the only good thing in the set (and the only reason this is getting as many stars as it is).

All three are comfortable enough to use, but the wire cutters aren't anywhere near sharp enough to cut through even 20 gauge copper wire (the old wire cutters I was trying to replace are at least capable of that, though some force is needed, which is why I'm replacing them). They may be able to cut through thinner wire -- I don't know, because at this point 20 gauge is the thinnest I use, though I don't imagine they'd be capable of cutting through 24 or 22 gauge wires, either; these barely left a dent in the 20 gauge wire.

At first look I was a bit weary about using the chain nose pliers, because the other chain nose pliers I have are longer and thinner (so better suited for the smaller jump rings I work with), but I decided to give them a try anyway. After all, they couldn't be THAT bad, right? The edges of these chain nose pliers aren't smooth at all and I ended up with marred jump rings. I attempted to smooth the edges with a file, but it didn't do much good. I'll keep them on hand for tasks that it wouldn't matter if something gets marred, but I definitely won't be using them for jewelry again.

I really wish I hadn't wasted my money on these. The only consolation is that I would have probably spent this much on a decent pair of round nose pliers, anyway, so it isn't a total loss. (But now I'm having to wait for another pair of pliers and wire cutters.)

I needed a set of pliers for some very basic beading and wire work. There are certain wires they don't work on, so do your research before purchasing. I am just a semi-hobbyist, but if you are a more serious wire-worker, you may want to look into something a little more upscale. They are perfect for what I needed them for, though. I'm very happy with them.

I make craft jewelry and previously had multipurpose craft pliers and could not understand why I can't seem to make good loops and wraps. It's because I had the wrong tool. These 3 are great. I suppose there are situations were you need other types in addition to these three, but I have yet to run across those situations. The cutter cuts very well.

This was perfect for me to make some jewelry. The price is very reasonable for 3 pliers. I used all 3 pairs.

These just work so well. I have been trying to use really inexpensive pliers and there is just no comparison. These close tight so there are no gaps in your rings. They grab even the tiniest locking beads with precision. The cutters cut wire very well. Excellent set.
