This is an advertisement without the specifics that machine embroiders need. What are the most popular formats; SEW JEF ART ? What is the size of the stitch field required for the designs; 4X4, 6X8, 5X7, 8X8 or other? I have used these techniques with great success from other sources but I would not purchase this without knowing these answers in advance. I have wasted money in the past on designs that were too big for my machine and all the books with design CDs are not returnable.

This is a nice book, except beware - there are MANY erros in pictures, templates and in measurments which she has become aware of and corrections are on her site, so you will need to correct some measurments and some templates that errors on them.
Most projects are nice and will make cute gifts - and most directions are easy to follow. The DVD that comes with it is very good. I am hoping she comes out with a corrected book with additional projects soon.

I purchased this book as I want to make a throw like quilt from my recently deceased husband's flannel shirts that he loved so much. I wanted to be able to use as many different pieces as possible and chose the crazy patch design. I stitched out a couple blocks to see how it would look and was very pleased with the ease of the instructions and great photos describing each step. There were some errors in the printing on several pages that need correcting. I went to the web site and was able to make the necessary corrections. Overall, I am enjoying the book and the video and highly recommend for anyone wanting to try quilting in the hoop.

I purchased this book and found the projects to be easy to make.
The DVD includes step by step for several of the projects. I would recommend it for someone who is a beginner (like me) that wants to make professional gift presentations and get to use the embroidery machine. I am considering buying a copy for each of my sewing club gals so we can all do them together.

I've been absolutely LOVING the projects in this book! They don't take long, they don't use much material--and in fact, I used some scraps that I thought were too small for anything. The projects come out great. One of the first things I made is the ironing pad, which is a useful item for all the subsequent projects. It was incredibly easy and a good starting off project. I hope the author comes out with more designs and projects--I love having the designs on a CD with the book. The instructional video included on the CD with Nancy Zieman was entertaining and helpful. All in all, this book is a winner!

If you have an embroidery sewing machine you will love this book! I have done many in-the-hoop type embroidery projects with my machine so I was curious as to what this book would offer by way of interesting projects.
The projects you can create with this book, and the CD that comes with it, are simply lovely. I have already made some of the projects more than once and will make them again and again. The instructions are very well written and clear and because of the in-the-hoop method the creations are very tidy with seams that are flawless.

Quilter's dream!,
This review is from: Piece in the Hoop: 20 Quilt Projects + 40 Machine Embroidery Designs (Paperback)
This is a fantastic book! For those reviewers with questions, here are the specifics: in the front of the book, it says 5x7 hoop (once your embroidery machine is loaded with the design, then the correct hoop automatically is highlighted on your machine), your embroidery machine uses machine-specific files like ART or PES, just read your machine's manual to find out, transfer the files to a flash drive from your CD-ROM and your ready to hoop your stabilizer (also specifically mentions which exact brand and type to use) and you are ready to make your scraps into gorgeous, useful projects! Here's a link to my first project with this book - I loved it and plan on creating all the projects - I hope there will be a second book, too! [...]
