The best!,

I remember seeing Meg Lee Chin in concert with My life with the thrill kill kult a few years back and being completely in awe of her. When I left the show I was determined to go buy her cd (and t-shirts and stickers and posters), but to my dismay i realized i hadn't caught her name. After a year of research I found her again, bought the CD, and have been truly in love ever since. Her lyrics and her style are just awesome and her charisma on stage makes her that much more fun. She's pure talent, I'd reccomend this CD to anyone.

Wow - this CD rocks, rolls, jumps around, grooves, pounds and much more. Meg Lee Chin is the punk-sprite wild thing singer for Pigface and this is her first solo album. She is a true original - poking fun at trendoids in nutopia and other songs, always with an intelligent sense of humor and a beat. You can dance to it, sing along to it, clean the house, you name it - very energizing!

This one was worth the wait!,

I first heard Meg Lee Chin on a Pigface album. The song "Nutopia" made me an instant fan of her work. Finally, her solo CD has arrived at my house, and what can I say? I love it. This is quite possibly the best chunk of music ever to come from the Invisible label. Her work is in a genre all her own, but any fans of good hip-hop, indrustrial, alternative, or techno will find something new and wonderful. Meg is gonna be big, get this one now so you can brag about it to yer friends a year or so from now...

This disk has the same energy (and some similar technique) from NIN's first (and best) album. But Meg Lee Chin is more articulate and lyrical, with a biting sense of humor. I have to disagree with the Amazon reviewer that says she "wanders...into creative havoc" (I assume he's talking about "sweet thing") it is a high-tech narrative, this is the type of song that doesn't show up on a greatest hits album but defines the depth of an artist. She easily could have kept up the intense industrial dance feel but opted for a little mind candy too. In my opinion EVERY song on this album is worth a listen and about two- thirds of the songs on this album would ignite any party.

A SOLID RELEASE,

Pigface contributor Meg Lee Chin's debut solo album is a blast from start to finish. Techno, industrial, hip-hop, with pop sensibilities to spare. An irresistable find for fans of Pigface, Invisible Records, or any type of edgy music. Keep an eye on this one!

Meg Lee Chin's first album "Piece and Love" is a startling, experimental, rough, and aggressive attack. Her work with Pigface was relatively tame compared to this. At points, you sometimes begin to wonder where she's going with some of her thoughts (hey, we don't question Tori Amos yet we interrogate Meg? C'mon, now). Her second album "Junkies and Snakes" is far more focused- utilizing her innovation, but keeping things relatively in line and accessible- even in her odd little way.
Do not dismiss this album because it doesn't fall in to the mainstream of industrial artists. Einsturzende Neubauten is a CLASSIC example of an artist revered as genius, but disliked by those who only enjoy the mainstream (and yes, as far as industrial music is concerned, "Too Dark Park" IS mainstream. Genius, but mainstream.). Love this album for what it is: Meg's first foray into the scene on her own, a woman on the prowl. Listen closely, she's only getting started.

I first heard Meg Lee Chin on 3wk net radio. I was looking for something different and new and she fit the bill. I was unprepaired by how good this disk is, though. If you're tired of the same-old same-old, this is definately worth a listen.

I first heard of Meg Lee Chin on the Ministry tribute when she covered "Scarecrow". So I figured I would try to find her solo cd. Overall, it's alright, some good beats and decent mixing, but it just seemed too poppy for someone who had such a great goth-like cover of a ministry song. I'm not too positive if she is from Britain or lives there now, but her music definately shows some influence of british techno in her music. Hopefully her next album will adventure into the goth sound she had on "Scarecrow".
