5.0 out of 5 stars THE ULTIMATE Pieced Border Book, November 2, 2000
By
Cindy Williams (Otto, NC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pieced Borders: The Complete Resource (Paperback)
This book is by far the best book published on pieced borders. Judy and Marsha are two of America's best quilt authorities and have really put their all into this book. You will find everything from the different types of pieced borders, to hundreds of graphics of different pieced borders to inspirational quilts with pieced borders - at least a dozen of which have complete instructions for several sizes each! As a quilt instructor myself, I find the book an invaluable resource. I have six students starting a Round Robin project this month and their "bible" will be "Pieced Borders" by Martin & McCloskey!

Find everything you need to know for planning and making your own pieced borders. How to choose a border, and how wide. What color to choose and how to sew long border strips ( and how not to) . 5.0 out of 5 stars Learn to Design Borders, November 11, 2006
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pieced Borders: The Complete Resource (Paperback)
This book is great! But it's not for beginners, or timid quiltmakers. Some of the designs are rather complicated and time consuming. But oh boy, what a difference a beautiful border makes to your quilt! You'll find patterns, diagrams, tables of measurements, and colorful before and after pictures of lovely quilts with and without the borders. The authors are two of our most talented and well known teachers, designers, authors and quiltmakers. If you are looking for that perfect border for your newly made quilt you'll find it here. But easier books for new quilters seeking to learn how to make the perfect border are out there.
