Judging by this item description you would figure the magnets are strong. Well they are not.

I would figure these are about average strength for the magnet size.

A single magnet will barely hold a 6x4 photo so you will need more than one to hold it securely. These are also of average quality.
What I don't like most about these is that the magnet surface leaves carbon like residue on my fingers and other surfaces it touches.

We use these for homeschool activities. They're perfect as an alternative to dot-to-dot markers. Just place the page on top of a magnetic cookie sheet. Lots of fun!

I recently purchased these magnets to use in my preschool classroom and they have been a great learning tool as well as a creative tool. My students use them to sort, make patterns, and to design pictures. I use them with mini magnet boards at the table and they love it. They create pictures either with predesgined pictures or free art. I some times will have them recreate AB patterns as well. Great product to use in the classroom! Thanks!

Over all the product was not bad. They are not very strong magnets and it takes at least 4 to hold a single 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper to a magnetic board. I would not buy these if I had to order more magnets.

My daughter loves these magnets as they are learning about them in school so that makes then even more fun for her!!

This is a great product I have a daycare and I use it with the kids for magnet sheets so they are used and abused.

I purchased the 100 pieces power Magnets to use in my classroom. They far exceeded my expectations! They are just what I wanted for little hands to use their fine motor skills while using these in activities for learning. I also will be using them as a "teacher" to hang education posters on magnetic walls. The colors are just awesome--so bright and colorful. I will be ordering more of these in the future!

We're a small preschool and bought these with the intention of using them in the classroom; the kids love them (especially the way they can make "pairs" with some--and not with others--so surprising to preschoolers!) We use them with the magnetic play sheets from [...] as well as for general sorting and magnet play. They do tend to leave faint smudges on plain paper, but since we laminate most of the pages, that's not really an issue for us, though it might be for office-type uses. Overall, very well suited for the purpose for which we bought them--but might not be as useful for holding multiple sheets of paper on a board.

The power magnets were a great addition to our home classroom. My daughter is very eager to learn and activities we are using allow her to place the magnets in defined circles to form the shapes of letters. They are strong enough to stick to the cookie sheets, but not too strong so her little hands can easily separate them!

Like other reviewers, I am using these as a preschool mamipulative. They've hit the ground a few times already and haven't slpit apart (which was my number one concern). I don't need them to hold anything up, as they are used on a horizontal surface.
