It features classic, fruit, nut, and cream pies, as well as chapters for savory pies, and pie wannabes, like Boston cream pie and whoopie pies.
I also own Vegan Pie in the Sky by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, and this is just as good. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is trying to limit their soy consumption however, as a lot of the recipes use tofu or soy based dairy substitutes. (Also a complaint of Moskowitz's book by other reviewers was the use of nuts for cream-based pies, this book does not rely on nuts.)
There are also lots of beautiful pictures.
I really can't wait for the holiday season when I really get a chance to try this book out.
The instructions are very clear, the ingredients easily available even here in South Africa and what a wonderful, tasty collection
of recipes. Even I, as a terrible baker, should be able to get wonderful results.
