This review is from: The Pietists: Selected Writings (Classics of Western Spirituality) (Paperback)
Pietism is not always remembered in Christian history books, but at the time it was extremely influential. This book starts out with a nice, yet quick history of pietism, and then follows it up with selected writings from various pietists, including (but not limited to) Philipp Jakob Spener and Nicolas Ludwig, Count Von Zinzendorf.
Overall, I found this to be a very good book. I can't speak to how accurate the translation work was, but I can tell you that I found the writings to be very easy to read. Not only that, they were very interesting and uplifting. So, if you want to learn about the pietists, go to the source, and read this book! |
