Sam Fuller was brilliant, and it's wonderful that this film will finally be available on DVD. Fantoma, the company releasing it, had to put it on hold last fall, but claims it should be out later this year. Somehow, a few copies have been leaked out. DO NOT PAY $120 FOR THIS!!! Don't encourage this type of behavior. Be patient, it will be out soon.
OK, it's been almost a year since I wrote the above note and still no "Dead Pigeon." Recently, Fatoma announced that it had cleared some distribution hurdles that had hobbled the company, and things are back on track. Hopefully, this DVD will be out by the end of 2006. Here it is, early 2007 and it's still not out. However, Fatoma claims they're still working on it and the movie should be out eventually. Stay away from the bootlegs and wait for a proper release. You'll be glad you did. |
