It is very important to note that these are much different (in both quality and size) that the other "Pike Street 1000 Thread Count" sets available on a different page (same price range, but says "Single-Ply Sateen" rather than "Eqyptian").
The "Single Ply" feel twice as substantial as these "Egyptian", and weigh more (almost 1 pound heavier in weight). In addition, the Queen flat sheets for "Single-Ply" measure 93 x 101 (92 x 102 is supposed to be Queen standard), whereas these 'Egyptian' measure only 88 x 98. Have owned at least 4 other brands of 1000TC sheets.

Rough - Uncomfortable Sheets!,

Let me be as brief as possible. yes these are thick sheets, and yes they are cheap for a Queen size --- but they are rough and far from soft. I'm a 28 year old guy, so I assure you, I'm not just wining about these sheets because they're wrinkled when they come out of the dryer. both myself and my girlfriend find them uncomfortable. Definately tolerable, but the fact that my preivous sets of 600 thread count sheets were far softer makes it clear that there is more to consider than the thread count.
I've done extensive travel in Youth Hostels in Central America and Europe staying at places as little ast $10 / night= those places had softer sheets. Please beware and spend the extra $20 and check out sheets at a store. don't make the same mistake i did. Given the variance in reviews, i'm thinking Pike street is a brand that buys discounted sheets from a third party and repackages them for a profit. UPDATE 8/1/10***** - I retract my earlier statement about these being tolerable. I'm an idiot for not returning them when i could. After washing a few times, they become so course and rough, they're only suitable to make up a dog's bed. I wouldn't even use them for guests sleeping on the bed in a frat house. They are the worst sheets i've encountered in nearly 30 years.

I very much agree with the previous reviewer, Ms. Koncewicz, especially her notion that these will be great to sleep on in summer. Also, I especially like that the set's standard pillow cases fit queen-size pillows with room to spare. On the downside, I've never seen sheets come out of the dryer anywhere near as wrinkled as these do.
Postscript: Above was written in March, now it's July and yes they're still comfortable. But I find I just can't stand the wrinkles. Since I also can't bring myself to iron them when I have Amazon's perfectly nice and equally comfortable wrinkle-free 500-count Pinzon sheets in the linen closet, these are going into the Goodwill bin at the next opportunity. Would definitely NOT recommend to people who don't iron their sheets.

These sheets are incredible,
This review is from: Pike Street 1,000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Queen Sheet Set, White (Kitchen)
I purchased these sheets together with the Pike Street 800 thread count sheet set as they were being offered as a combo special, made on the page if you wanted to order the 800 thread count sheets, which I did, and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with both sets of sheets. If you can still get them both together(amazing price)you should, you will not be disappointed at all. They are both very well made & wonderful to sleep on. I have an 18" thick mattress and they fit perfectly. My husband and I love good quality sheets & and we both highly recommend these. The few wrinkles that you may find after they come out of the dryer should in no way affect your decision to buy these wonderful sheets and miss out on this sheer elegance. I mean after all, you deserve it, you are worth it, so go for it. For my husband and I, an incredible nights sleep in total comfort.....PRICELESS!

I first was exposed to really nice sheets at an expensive hotel several years ago. Being a bit on the slow side, it took a while for me to consider that we might be able to have that kind of comfort at home too. Sooo, I searched through the listings and reviews here on Amazon. When I examined these sheets here, I noticed there were no reviews yet, but they looked so intriguing... So I took the plunge, and have been sleeping blissfully for the past eleven months since. Two things to note: yes, they wrinkle, but they don't negatively affect the comfort; the fit isn't exactly perfect, particularly the "squareness" of the fitted sheet, but it is good enough to work. Neither would keep me from buying them again.

These sheets are "rough" not smooth as silk!,
This review is from: Pike Street 1,000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set (Kitchen)
I was very dissapointed with the quality of these sheets. I have 600 count sheets which I love and thought that 1000 count ones would be even more luxurious. But these feel rough, like a cheaper grade cotton weave. I should have returned them but had washed them so didn't attempt to. Very dissapointed with the feel of these sheets.

Ok I was really excited about these sheets. After mostly good reviews, and 1000 thread count.
First thing my wife said after getting in bed was "Hmmm, not cotton?" I said yes 100% egyptian cotton, but I have to agree. I have never felt cotton like this. It felt like polyester, and not even a poly blend of cotton. These sheets were noisy, extremely hard, and yes as people said wrinkled to hell. I dont care about the wrinkles personally as I dont display my bed to the guests. However i was to put these on a guest bed I would be embarassed or have to iron them. I have sleeped in a lot of hotels, cheap hotels, exspensive hotels...even for hotel sheets these are the worst ever. They are thick I give them that, but that is all. I would seriously question the tag that says 100% cotton. I dont know what they had to do the cotton to get it the unbelievable 1000 thread count, however its not natural. In the future I will stay at 400-600 thread count. As for the people boasting about how great these sheets are.....Wow is all I can say, what do you people normally sleep on? Plastic Tarps? Soft as silk one reviewer said. I have slept on silk sheets, and trust me this is not silk, nor close to the softness of silk I would not recommend these sheets to anyone, not even for $20 never mind the almost $60 price tag on these. Nor would I ever put these on a guest bed. I wish I could return them however I thought I would try to wash them first and see if they soften up. They didnt. Big mistake. All I can say buy these if you must, however if you are looking for soft sheets...THESE ARE NOT THEM! I have atleast 10 sets of sheets and these are by the far the hardest, noisiest, wrinkliest I own, they might of compared to an old poly/cotton blend I threw away years ago. I have many 200 thread count sheets that are far softer. Maybe I got different sheets, or this is the worst case of bad product reviews...but buyer beware!

If you like wrinkles, you will love these sheets. You can't get them out of the dryer and onto the bed quickly enough to avoid the wrinkles. And be careful, I thought I was ordering the king sheet set but got the queen instead, a glitch, maybe my fault, but definitely related to the way the order is set up. These sheets are a high thread count, which I wanted, but they feel average at best. There is nothing special about them.

These sheets are the best!!!!,
This review is from: Pike Street 1,000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Queen Sheet Set, White (Kitchen)
I own multiple sets of these sheets. I also got my friends hooked on them. Don't believe the reviewers that say these sheets are too stiff or thick.....they're 1000 thread count!!! They're supposed to be good quality, not wimpy little wal-mart sheets! I highly recommend them! ALSO, ONLY wash your sheets in cold water, with NO fabric softner, and dry them with no heat. It preserves the quality! Happy sleeping!

I bought these for my parents. I own several sets of high thread count sheets, but these win the lottery at 1000 tc, single ply, egyptian cotton. This combo is hard to find period, and nearly impossible at this price. They are gorgeous and well worth buying. I'll be getting a set for myself and the husband. (BTW, if out "googling" this sort of thing, don't get fooled by these fly-by-night sites that promise 1500tc, single ply egyptian cotton sheets for $80 - they are terrible and a complete rip-off. I learned my lesson.)
