5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Thick Sheets
I bought 2 sets of the Queen Pike Street 160-gram sheets recently. I was apprehensive because of one of the very negative reviews. I almost didn't buy them because of it. I have had problems in the past with really thin jersey sheets that developed holes after the first wash which is just before I put them on the bed the first time or with little ware. I needn't have...

1.0 out of 5 stars THESE PIKE STREET SHEETS ARE AWFUL!
I have had a pair of jersey t-shirt sheets for well over 10 years. They have held up well, but have a few stains and a couple little holes. They are a little bit thin on the part where I lay, but I consider them thick in comparison to these Pike Street ones. I was hoping to replace my sheets, but instead, I am keeping them as they are far superior to the Pike Street...

I have had a pair of jersey t-shirt sheets for well over 10 years. They have held up well, but have a few stains and a couple little holes. They are a little bit thin on the part where I lay, but I consider them thick in comparison to these Pike Street ones. I was hoping to replace my sheets, but instead, I am keeping them as they are far superior to the Pike Street sheets.

These Pike street sheets are atrocious to try to fit on the bed. Yes, they fit, but are not all that deep. But, the biggest problem is getting them on. They grip, they are not soft smooth and glidey (if you will) like my other t-shirt sheets. You cannot manuever them easily. It took me at least 15 minutes or more to get them on right. They have no give. My other ones just go right on and are smooth enough to maneuver around, and the Pike Street, their surface is too rough and it is a huge struggle.

The quality of these Pike Street sheets is awful! After one wash, they have all kinds of pilling. I thought only polyester pilled. They are very thin. I have the natural color and you can see your hand very well through them! I can't imagine these sheets lasting even half as long as my others. I would love to get another set of the others, but they are Charter Club and I cannot find them any longer, don't think they make jersey sheets anymore. What a shame. They do still make sheets, though, and I may buy the flannel ones later: CHARTER CLUB King Flannel Sheet Set with Penguins & Snowflakes, PG15SS787.

I chose to buy these Pike Street sheets because it was a good price and all the other reviews I read for other brands said theirs were too small. Big Mistake. I don't know if all jersey sheets are made horribly like this, but I don't think I will order anymore jersey sheets by mail again. I need to be able to look at them and touch them before buying. These sheets are not soft and smooth and after one use, they look like I have had them 20 years. Buy them only if you do not mind poor quality and don't mind fighting to get them on your bed correctly.

I needn't have worried. These were MUCH thicker than the Walmart sheets and some other nameless brand I got off of the net. The fitted sheet fit fine on my thick queen mattress although the top sheet could have been a little wider. I was suspicious of the really good price but thought that I could buy a couple and if they were bad just suck up for some expensive sheets. Well, I bought them and I'm back to buy some more.

1.0 out of 5 stars badly sewn, January 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The fabric is very nice. The product seemed ok until I laundered it, then I discovered uneven seams, and unevenly cut pillowcases. The hem at the top of the top sheet was twisted and wouldn't lay flat. The pillowcase was the same. We were very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic sheets at a great price!, April 15, 2009

After reading all the reviews, I decided to take a chance. A few of the reviewers had given these low ratings and said they were very 'thin'. I have to tell you, I don't know what sheets they are used to, but these seem like the normal thickness to me! They have great color, are very soft, they wash very well (no problems shrinking or piling), and the colors are great. I wish they had even more color choices!

Great sheets, we love them, and I am a very picky buyer who shops for hours/days/weeks/months before buying anything! I don't think you can go wrong with these sheets, especially for the price. They seem like they will last plenty long, but at this price, if they last 2 years I'll be more than happy (although I have no reason to believe they will not last much longer than that)

1.0 out of 5 stars Not up to expectations, March 27, 2009
This review is from: Pike Street 160-Gram 100% Egyptian Cotton Jersey Knit Sheet Set (Kitchen)
This jersey knit sheet set pills easily which makes it rough on the skin. I have to use my sweater shaver to remove the pills to make the sheets more comfortable. I have another set of jersey knit sheets that are soft and after many, many uses have never pilled. This set pilled after the first night. I don't recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good material, poor craftmanship., January 1, 2009

I purchased the Sage queen size sheet set and was happy with the quality of the material, but one of the pillow cases was sewn very crooked. The band around the side opening was twisted and the seam down the top and bottom were skewed. The other set of sheets I ordered from this company were not flawed like this so it may have only been a one time thing, but how did that get through QA?

Happy with everything else - fits my semi-deep pocket nicely and good color. Probably would not buy from the company again due to this experience.

I didn't want to go out shopping recently so I purchased this sheet set online and had Amazon deliver right to my doorstep the next day (talk about convenience!) I bought these for a guest who was coming to stay with me. I took my chances on getting a sheet set that was priced so inexpensively....I thought perhaps we could use them just for the visitor then throw them out if they fell apart. I mean, they only cost $20 for goodness sakes! But, I've washed them three times and have had them for several weeks. They are so compfy that I've started sleeping in the guest room just to be on them. They're very, very warm and pretty soft. They fit my full sized bed perfectly and are a bit deep (which is good for my bed). I'm thrilled with this purchase and would consider buying this bedding for other beds in my house too.
