4.0 out of 5 stars Great value and very comfy...
I shopped and shopped for comforters before deciding on this one, I chose it because I liked the high thread count (no down leakage), that it was all down and not down and feather and had a fill power of over 600. (the more fill power the greater the poof) When it comes out of the bag, it feels kind of flat and lightweight but after a shake or two it was nice and fluffy...

2.0 out of 5 stars FEATHERS and down--NOT 100% down!!!!!!
Just received mine today. The tag on the comforter states minimum 75% down. That leaves 25% FEATHERS. What a disappointment to discover this after reading the product description carefully BEFORE I made my purchase.

If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. This comforter proves the rule.

Just received mine today. The tag on the comforter states minimum 75% down. That leaves 25% FEATHERS. What a disappointment to discover this after reading the product description carefully BEFORE I made my purchase.

If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. This comforter proves the rule.

FEATHER/down combination comforters do NOT maintain their loft--they tend to flatten out after minimal use. They also do not have the same luxury feel as 100% down.

Feathers in the comforters make noise. I tried one of the feather and down combination comforters on our bed and my husband who NEVER notices anything asked why the comforter was making noise! Down is silent when you roll over or adjust the covers.

The outer covering on this comforter is nice at 410 thread count.

This is just another warm blanket, not a luxury down comforter. The label on the comforter package clearly states: BASIC BEDDING.

The less expensive down and feather combination comforters sold on amazon have the SAME fill, so unless you want the 410 thread count cover on a feather/down combination comforter, save your money and buy the less expensive product.

I will be returning this product and searching for a 100% down comforter. We've had the real thing for years and the feather/down combination comforters just don't measure up.

I live in San Francisco, so this is a perfect weight for when it dips in to the 40's. I was nice and warm. The only thing is that the comforter smells a little like goose if you know what I mean, but I assume that the smell will dissipate with time. once I put it in my duvet cover, I didn't notice it any more. I also wish it had more baffle stitching but for under $80 I thought this was a great deal.

I first bought this for my 4yr-old daughter. The quality is so superb - soft fluffy and a great weight - that I later bought 4 more to furnish our beach house. Can't beat the price. All other comparable down comforters, in terms of thread count, fill power & weight, are priced at least 30% more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value. Super comfortable., June 12, 2009

I love this blanket. I've been using it for about 1 year, and have been very pleased with it. Should say that the feathers have a tendency to exit the blanket with rough treatment. I enjoy the extra warmth and the feather securing capacity of a good duvee during the colder months. But during the summer (yes, I use this in the summer too), the thin and soft material of the blanket itself provides a soft, fluffy cool feeling that is very comforting. I just don't let kids jump on it or use is as a parachute.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly fluffy comforter, March 22, 2009

My husband and I recently moved to Kodiak Alaska and decided to upgrade our comforter. This one really fills our need to stay warmer when the temperatures are in the teens. It is amazingly fluffy and well worth the cost. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, cozy comforter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this comforter., July 17, 2010

I'm very happy with this comforter. I bought it on Tuesday, rec'd Friday. Pike Street appears to be a made-for-Amazon brand, so packaging was pretty plain, which makes sense because you're buying online not buying based on packaging in a brick-and-mortar store.

Anyway, the comforter...

I got the King size for my Queen size bed. There is a lot of overhang (which I wanted), maybe 20 inches each side, and maybe 6 inches at the bottom. The comforter appears to be well made, with sturdy stitching. The fabric appears sateen-y (maybe a double-pick sateen...? Ida know) and is a good texture - faintly crisp and rustly but very soft. I prefer percale, but this is very nice. I don't see any feather-ends poking out, and it's very comfortable to sleep with. The tag says minimum 75% down, and "Made in China; filled and finished in the USA." For the first couple of hours after opening the comforter up, it smelled moderately of plastic and sizing, but by bedtime, the smell had dissipated.

One last thing: this comforter is pleasingly puffy. I entertained myself for 30 seconds or so last night by flattening it and watching it puff back up. But then, I am easily entertained. Anyway, I would highly recommend this comforter at this moment. I'll try to update in a year or so to comment on the durability and washability (says dry clean only, but I intend to machine wash once a year or so, with lots of outdoor airings in between).

The best purchase of 2009! Very light, very warm, no smell.
First I got one in King size for myself. Loved it so much, that had to get another one for my mother in law, also in King. Unfortunately, got the last one in Twin size for my older son. The baby will need his for the next winter... Hopefully Amazon will get more twin sizes by then!

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps You Warm!, December 22, 2008
If you're looking for a down comforter that will keep you warm, this is it! Our bedroom is usually in the low 60's but you'd never know it with this comforter on the bed. It seems to be a good quality comforter too.

I bought this for a very cold-sensitive friend. With a flannel duvet cover she finds it very warm. I haven't used it, but I own a bunch of down comforters and I could tell this one was good quality with minimal feather leakage (at least so far). I bought it for around $70 on sale at Amazon, which made it a great deal - at $112 now it's quite a bit more but still a good value for the quality.
