The Uptown Maestros were hired by The Pilates Studio® of Los Angeles to create original music to be used to accompany the exercise program in their newly released Pilates for Pregnancy fitness video, designed and performed by Melinda Bryan. In the process of developing this music, The Uptown Maestros were faced with a unique challenge. There was no recipe to follow. So The Uptown Maestros began extensive research and found that there were several variations in the Pilates method. Some schools presentation of the method is slower with more of a Yoga like feel, while others were energetic and dynamic. One thing was consistent within most of the leading schools, and that was that the Pilates method was more exciting and effective when performed with a rhythm.

Very cool music. It gives me energy. Most CD's for workout such as Pilates or Yoga is always too sleepy or depressing. I was a little worried that this CD was going to be a downer, but was happy to find it to be the opposite. All the songs on this album is uplifting. A mind and body experience. I have 3 of the 4 CD's from the series and enjoy them all.

This CD is a wonderful companion to any workout. I am a Pilates student at a studio and also workout at home and find this and the other CDs in the series to be helpful in motivating me throughout my workout without ever distracting me. I bought the series to accompany my many different musical moods, however, if someone has a particular taste in music any one of the CDs will do! The musicians sound great, unlike some workout music that sounds hokey or second rate.

A refreshing CD to say the least I really enjoy listening to the music. The pace and rythem is very smooth. I have now collected the entire collection and I am glad I did. Great music to say the least. Best, DG
