As a descendant of William Brewster on my mother's side, I was particularly interested in his early life and the times in which he grew up and flourished. Ms. Sherwood does an admirable job of making the times and the people come alive. I am purchasing copies of this book for the next generation, to help them understand their interesting heritage, and kindle in them a love of history.

"Pilgrim: A Biography of William Brewster" by Mary B. Sherwood is an excellent read! She really did her homework and kept to the historical facts. It was so good that I purchased four copies of this book to distribute to my husband's family members related to William Brewster!

This is very interesting, and we have found some information for our genealogy. Not an easy task to be sorting our people from the 16th & 17th centuries, so we must depend on books like this.
