5.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to Muck. He's a moron.
To begin with, all of the original members of the band aren't dead. Ron Griffiths is alive and well, and so is the guy who replaced him, Joey Molland. Joey's no prince, but to say he didn't write songs and doesn't deserve to be paid for his contribution to the band is beyond stupid. Want a scapegoat? How about the music industry as a whole, everybody's beloved Beatles...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Album
Following the relatively commercial success of the Badfinger "Day After Day" live-album, Joey Molland released this album on Ryko Records in 1992. The production of this album, by Joey himself, is much more satisfying than his first album from 1984. The material is also better , the playing time is much longer; all in all a much better effort by Joey. Very...

Joey's no prince, but to say he didn't write songs and doesn't deserve to be paid for his contribution to the band is beyond stupid. Want a scapegoat? How about the music industry as a whole, everybody's beloved Beatles included. Joey, Pete, Mike, and Tom got screwed over long before Joey decided to get what he could for himself, and to be honest, Tom's demons were what killed him. The real tragedy here is Pete, and to a lesser extent, Mike. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be a nice guy.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Album, June 13, 2004

Following the relatively commercial success of the Badfinger "Day After Day" live-album, Joey Molland released this album on Ryko Records in 1992. The production of this album, by Joey himself, is much more satisfying than his first album from 1984. The material is also better , the playing time is much longer; all in all a much better effort by Joey. Very strong ballads like "All Caught Up", "The Magic of Love" ( a bit too long ) and "No One likes The Rain" ( a potential hit ) combined with optimistic tracks like "This'n That" make this album Joey's artistically most succesful album since the Badfinger-days. Even Joey's straightforward rockers sound better than usual.

My favourites: "All Caught Up", "No One Likes The Rain" and "This'n That"

This is a cd I always keep in my cd player...in a word, it's infectious! Some of my favourites: "You make me sick", "Vampire Wedding", "All caught up", "No one likes the rain"...but every song on this is great! No filler here. Buy this...you won't regret it! :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Top-flight power pop from ex-Badfinger member, September 3, 2009
This review is from: Pilgrim (Audio CD)
Mostly a one-man show, Molland plays fine guitar and sings like a hybrid of Dave Edmunds and Gerry Rafferty (with a touch of Mark Knopfler thrown in), which also makes a fair description of the music on The Pilgrim. Vampire Wedding could be Dave Edmunds reworking The Monster Mash while This 'n' That sounds like a 90's rewrite of Rafferty's Right Down The Line. But that's OK -- Molland mined the same influences, played the same clubs, and paid the same dues. Songs like The Party's Over or The Magic of Love only come along once in a while, but when they do -- well, remember the first time you heard Baby Blue, I Knew The Bride, or Stuck in the Middle With You. I admit to knowing nothing about Molland's legal relationship to any royalties from classic Badfinger recordings, but fans of City to City, Rockpile, or even George Harrison's Cloud 9 will love this record for what it is - rock 'n' roll with its heart on its sleeve.

1.0 out of 5 stars sad, October 12, 2005
This review is from: Pilgrim (Audio CD)
this guy has latched on to a band that was a legend.

he didnt write songs..

and has made a living out of all the members of Badfinger. Including getting a percentage of that song which he didnt write.

All the original members are now dead.... Oct 9 2005.

33 years later the True members of BADFINGER HAVE STILL NOT BEEN PAID FOR WRITING "WITHOUT YOU".

Joey Molland will get 25%.

Micky Gibbins'(original drummer) family can not afford to get his body back to Wales for a funeral.

Buy this album or what?
